What’s the strangest thing you traded for a car?
1969
Mine would be my Wife’s wedding dress, her brother was getting married his bride to be was interested in my wife’s dress. The groom to be had a 1960 Chevy Biscayne 2door sedan for sale. I had a great idea that I would trade my Wife’s dress for the car.
As it turned out the only one that made out was the new bride, and I my Wife, and her brother just shook their heads.

When I was about 12 I saw a model A fordor sedan in the local paper for $ 50 (this was about 1957). I called the guy and my Mom told me to ask him if he would take her sewing machine instead of the money. He agreed and drove the car to my house but on the provision he could keep the battery.
My buddies and I turned what had been a very clean little sedan into a pile of junk by chopping the fenders off with an axe because we couldn't get the bolts loose. Ruined the car and a local junkman finally gave me $ 20 for it. Thing even had the little bud vases inside.........boy did I kick my butt a few times in later years over that one.

I bought a fairly nice, running '37 Ford Club Coupe for $50, did a few things but really nothing to brag about except a 'new' clutch plate and a nice replacement grille. I was being drafted so needed to sell it as my parents home was in a very restrictive neighborhood. My price, $60, a Mossberg 20ga shotgun and a few other trinkets. I still have the shotgun which has taken a small toll on the NY deer population and kept the good grille(which I since sold for $400) but really wish I still had the coupe. A shoulda, woulda, coulda car - current value in that condition - lots more then what I got for it
.
Then there was that '32 3 window with the '48 24 stud engine and the '37 hump sedan

I am now gone from this forum for now - finally have pulled the plug

When I was about 16 years old, I traded a single shot .22 cooey rifle and 2 packs of cigarettes for a 1932 durant roadster!! The car was in perfect condition, except that someone had removed the doors for partridge hunting, so that the wouldn't have to be opening and closing the doors to jump in and out.Old guy hot rodder

Swapped a Field Marshal tractor for a pool table, does that count? Or a '48 Indian 45 for an armload of questionable rifles and a new Honda 50(shudder).
