KANSAS POEM
It's winter in Kansas
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At twenty-five below.
Oh, how I love Kansas
when the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave Kansas
'Cause I'm frozen to the ground!!

Ahhh, Kansas. Heard a couple of guys at the window the other day with the snow coming down sideways. One said to the other, "It'll be still & clear by 5." Getting no immediate response but a sideways glance from his buddy, he went on, "Yep, still snowing, and clear up to your butt!!"
Might as well be South Dakota, same weather we've been having!!!!!! My partner has promised that when it warms up this time it's going to stay warm and be Spring..... I told him if he's wrong it would be grounds for a public lynching at the big tree on the courthouse lawn!!!!!!!!
Wow, with weather like that.....I'm glad I'm in Cali......It got up to a chilly 78 here today :cool:

Yeah, I know what you mean. Too many trucks around here, they have a 40mph speed limit now coming down the hill....Lots of smoking breaks.....

I thought because of the climate changes that we would become warmer in the winter, but it's just not happening. Every winter my body says to go south or somewhere where it's warmer. I can't bear the cold. I was a line-man for 8 years. Climbed many a pole in 34 degree weather with the rain coming down. Glad to be inside now. If it weren't for the cold....I'd live in Colorado. Arkansas really isn't too cold. Hats off to you Dave. Its a wonder you still have all your fingers. My dad was born and raised in the Duluth area. He's told me stories about the cold. Brrrrrr!Quote:

The Solomon river flooded bad in the mid '50's, I can remember the mark on grandads wall at just over 6'.
Only thing I can add to this conversation is that I glad you didn't send any of that crap to Pennsylvania.:eek: We got the damaging winds, but not the little white and irriatating flakes. At least not where I am.:LOL: :LOL:
I do feel sorry for all those who live west of me though.
