Yeah, I've downloaded a tune or two from limewire, and IRC...in fact I got a letter in the mail the other day letting me know that if I download just one more, I would get my honorary Jolly Roger flag, eye-patch, parrot and peg leg. It fits I guess as I've always favored the letter "RRRRRR!!".........
That being said, I think it's time to hang it all up and go legit. I plan on getting a new ipod within the next few weeks and as I get older it's more important to me to be honest, and to actually pay for the songs I download. I don't know if it's just a momentary lapse of judgement on my part or a longterm change, time will tell I guess.
Cheers,
Dutch
I will pay for the music...... But speaking of IPOD I dont have one but some of the people I know do. 1 guy has 5000 songs on his IPOD . I asked how much did he pay for the music and he said he pays 99 cents a song on Rhapsody. Well 1 dollar X 5000 songs= 5000 dollars in music:confused: But what really got me is that you can never get that music back out of the IPOD ...... His first IPOD broke and all the music on that one was lost. What am I missing about all this IPOD stuff?Quote:

Personally, I have stayed away from Ipods just because of reasons like that; but, I'm looking at going the Ipod route for the video aspect so that I can watch movies when I travel. Since I travel quite a bit, it seems to be the most convienient way to go.

Santa gave me a SanDisc Sansa 480 8GB mp3 player that came from Amazon.com. Great sound and about 1/3 the price of the Mac iPod. You can also add pictures, download your favorite FM station while listening along with a few more things. It also has a micro SD memory card slot for even more 'good stuff'. The $115 price included $15 worth of downloads. The Amazon music is $.69 to $.99 depending on the group with full albums from $4.99 up to $8.99. My town library also has a bunch of music as well and that has a really good price, um, er Free!! All you need is a computer with a CD, Windows Media and the mp3 software, also free. Why buy an iPod - the prices are outrageous
I travel also for my job so i am in the airport up to 3-4 times a week. I am still happy with my laptop for all my music and video needs.Quote:

I have never purchased from ITunes, I buy CD's. I load all my CD's on the IPOD via my computer. When I want a new song I usually buy the artist's CD and load it on the computer and laod it on the computer and then the IPOD. I back up my Itunes library using DVD's. I have 400 or so CD's on 6 DVD's this way.

I still rely on my tin foil hat.
www.mpeg-search.com is free, and somehow it's considered legal, song titles are limated tho. I'v used Limewire, but not recently. I get music from friends also, I just got
over 25 GB of music from a friend, I also borrow CD's and stuff. If theres somthing I want bad enough, I will buy music. theres a site that sells basic unprotected Mp3's for 9.99 per month for 30 downloads. I have a konaki Mp4 player, which is a POS but it works like a flash drive, so I can always recover my music, or get more from other ppl.. I have a Samsung K3 on order, which is a MTP player, meaning I can recover music off of it from my computer only and it will work with subscription music services ( a rip off I would never use )
