Kind of makes us feel like Bionic Men after a while, huh?
But when you think about it, we are so much luckier than our ancestors even just 100 years ago. They didn't have all this technology to keep them alive and active.
My Dad had open heart surgery in 1956 at the Mayo Clinic, and they didn't know what the heck they were doing back then, this heart stuff was in it's infancy. Now, just 50 years later they can take out hearts, put a new one in, open up clogged arteries, swap out kidneys, and do all sorts of things with a high rate of success.
I can't wait for them to cure some of the other stuff we have, like Cancer, Diabetes, AIDS, and the rest. It is only a matter of time.
Just think, you could have been born earlier and had wooden teeth, a megaphone stuck to your ear, and been blind as a bat.
