makes sure that it covers all the basics :)
Thats all i need, they even have coffee for the wife.
Sorry to disagree with everyone but i personally don,t think beer, liquor and cigaretts belong in a family oriented place of business. This is only my opion i just can,t see why we want to teach our kids to drink and smoke. I am not trying to start an arguement just stating my own opion on the subject. Mr Moderator i beleive we have enough problems without me causing more. If you feel that i responded in an unappropriate manner feel free to delete my post. Thanks
Your alright with me, i personally was just joking! I pray my kids will never take up the bad habits i have chosen. Feel free to voice your opinion, thats why i love this site, we all get along.
Im with you on the smokes denny, worst thing i ever started, now i cant seem to stop, been close to 20 years for me, and im only 32
Looks like a pretty day in Tuc-son, to me; din't pay the sign much mind. :toocool:
Sure looks better than here, we're suppose to get between 8" & 16" of snow and rain today  I stiil have not got a different tranny for my Blazer yet, I have 295X50 tires on the back of my '87 Mustang convert, I'm up early so the wife can go to the store before it starts, in a couple hours.
I need to sell my house!!! :HMMM: so I can move to Tn! :3dSMILE:
My wife said we need to stop smoking (after about 35yrs of smoking), because the kid didn't like it! :( , now 11 yrs latter I still don't smoke, the wife never quit, and the kid now smokes! :)  I'm glad I quit, But I'm NOT going to give up my bloody's :D I make the best ones ;)

My motivation was a 5yr old son, just the two of us at the time, who asked one night "... Daddy, how many 'cigrettes' are in that little box in your pocket?" "20, why?" "And how many little boxes come in the big box over the 'fridgerator'?" "10, why?" "And how many little boxes do you have left right now?" "1, why?" "Well, you can finish the ones in your little box, and you can finish the little box over the fridge, but lets not buy any more big boxes, OK?" I quit the next day - 1976. You have to have a real reason to want to, and my kid was mine.Quote:

Smoking killed both my mother and my father - and it wasn't pretty. Of course, it won't kill anyone else . . . because it always happens to the OTHER guy.
I never touched one myself because I couldn't stand to be around the stench. It kills me that my youngest son smokes.
I too was joking, the sign does smack of irony. :D Thank God I have never felt the urge to smoke, so it is beyond me what the attraction is. I think part of it was that my Dad died of a heart attack at 47, I was 12. I remember him clutching his chest many times in pain and threatening to break my fingers if he ever saw me with a cigarette in my hand. He was a heavy smoker from about 13 on and felt that was what was killing him.
Funny story. My ex-wife is an RN but smokes like a chimney. While we were at Daytona last week my Son left his cat with her. He stopped by the shop on the way home from picking it up, and the cat reeked of smoke!! :D Poor thing is probably still coughing.

I miss Tucson. Went to school there. (Bear Down, Arizona)
I didn't notice the sign much, just the clouds. This must have been taken recently because in Arizona we don't have many clouds, but it has rained for 24 hours now. First time we have seen real rain in phoenix for many, many months.
its easy to quit smoking ive done it a thousand times!
Thanks to all for being understanding of my opinion! Love those hills in the pic wish i could be there MIKE
You dont want to be here in Tucson, it's terribly cold with a high of only 60-something yesterday and a low of 51 last night. We had to turn the fireplace on last night and the wife wants the heated floors in the bathrooms turned on. Besides, it rained last night and is going to rain again today..... how can it be Christmas without the air conditioning on???

For a while there was a picture circulating on the internet of a run-down looking combination service station/greasy-spoon cafe business. I have forgotten where.
The sign outside the joint said "EAT HERE AND GET GAS".

It could have been any number of places i have ate i just don,t remember the sign!:HMMM:

My motivation to quit was in 78.I had been smoking for 38 yrs.I was trying to hold some of those .002 tolerances (mentioned in a earlier thread)on a manual Bridgeport Mill and looking into the work piece, the smoke kept getting in my eyes and I stood up really p-----and said to my self.Who is in control here? I walked to my tool and snuffed out the cigarette and reached in the tool box and removed the pack threw it in the trash can and have never smoked since. It took a lot of will power to quit, but I made it.
