Our son & his Recon team is out on patrol again.
Don't know where he is or when he left or when he'll be back home(he can't tell us).

He's station in Japan for the next 2yrs or so.
But duty called so him & his buddies are out doing their job somewhere in the world.

He had planned to come home some time in Nov but this threw a monkey wrench in to the gears.
Oh well we knew there would be times like this so what else can wives/husbands/kids/parents & other family & friends do except deal w/it and hope for the best for all involved.
He did tell us that he plans to use up a good portion of his 50-60 days leave he has when he gets done w/this job.
Made his mom happy to hear that, she misses her baby boy....joe

If there is a bright side to all of this the last time we talked to Joe & his buddies they were pumped up & couldn't wait to do their job. I can honestly say Joe loves his job....joe

Hats off to guys like your son and to my nephew, David. Our lives are safer and better because of men like those. They are not just willing to be sent into bad situations, they are champing at the bit to go!

David tried at least three times to join the Navy Seabees and was turned down because of mild asthma, not-too-good eyesight, and a few other things. He finally wore the recruiters down and they let him in.

I'll shorten this by saying that he is now a first class petty officer (Equipment Operator) with several rows of ribbons on his chest and has been deployed three times; Iraq, Kuwait, and most recently to Afghanistan.

His job in Iraqi Storm was driving tanker trucks of gasoline and diesel from Kuwait to Baghdad. His parents didn't know about that until they saw a commendation he got.

At this time he is packing his sea bag for assignment to Korea. He acts like he can't wait.

You have to be extremely proud of your young man, Joe. He is in the thoughts and prayers of everybody.

Talk to the kid last week, he said all is well, that he left camp & is embedded in the field where ever he is suppose to be.
I asked how he was talking & he said on a satellite phone. I said "Ohhh one of those 5pound bricks w/a stick in it". He laughed & said YEPPPP that's what it looks like. Was only able to talk for about 5 minutes which was great because the last time we spoke it was a 30 second call telling us he made it to whatever camp they sent him to. He wasn't sure how long he be out in the field, but told us he was planning on coming home on leave for an extended time since he has 50plus day leave coming to him.

Everything is good here, got my right rotator cup tear repaired.
Taking it easy & hanging out at my brothers house in the woods every weekend cause it's nice & quite there.
I've popped in here every couple of days just to see what was up.
Plusssss, my brother has helped me put the front suspension together for Marge.
As far as if he was in Yemen, I honestly couldn't tell you cause Joe didn't say....joe
