Oldf100fordman in Hot Rod Heaven
Hey guys,
This is Ted, Duane's(Oldf100fordman) son. I knew my father was an active member of this site, so I had to let you all know that he passed away last Sunday. He died of a heart attack while getting ready for bed.
His Memorial Service was on Thursday the 18th with Military Rites right after.
My brother and I will miss him dearly.
This is a pic of me and dad in the Philippines back in '72...

OH MY GOD! I'm also in total shock. I hoped the title didn't mean what I thought it meant when I first saw it. To say I am sad is an understatement.
I never had the honor or pleasure of meeting Duane, but always thought of him as a friend. He was one of those extraordinary people you meet in life who go out of their way to be a nice person and care for others. I always looked forward to his replys and posts, and knew I could count on him for sound advice and a friendly word. He treated everyone with respect and kindness.
His love of his family was so apparent, and he loved them all, and was so proud of his two Sons and his latest additions, his Grandson and younger Granddaughter. He may have had more, but those are the only two I know about. He was one of those people you would love to hang out with and get to know better.
What a tremendous loss for your family, and for his extended family here on CHR. It will not be the same without him, and I am sitting here teary eyed and unable to totally grasp the enormity of this situation yet. I feel as if I have lost a very close, personal friend. I am deeply saddened.
My prayers and condolences go out to everyone in his family, and because I am a believer that it really doesn't all end when we pass, I know that Duane is with you right now, watching over you all. You will always have him and his memories to guide you.
I am so very, very sorry.

I'm so very sorry to hear that.
Many of us followed with deep concern his battles with his health problems and now feel a very real sense of loss. This, even though most of us were never privileged to meet him personally.
Duane leaves us with good memories.

I am lost for words, your dad & I would email each other every now & then and BS. He always asked me about my own son who is in the service & talked about how much he loved his own family. I talked about coming by & visiting him the next time I went to Iowa to visit my own realitves. He will be greatly miss & we have all lost a great friend....joeDonate Blood,Plasma,Platelets & sign your DONORS CARD & SAVE a LIFE

RIP brother Duane, it won't be the same without you here.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
