John which way did you do it? I know a couple of different ways but am always curious the method that somebody uses.

Denny, what I did on photoshop for a shadow I needed on some artwork for a tattoo was copy the image (just the image I needed to shadow) I desaturated it, colored it grey, then positioned it in relation to the image where I thought it looked right, then I blurred the edges. Voila! don't know how well it would work on a car, you'd probably have to make the car a layer so you could set the shadow between the vehicle and the background.
