how fast ? over 130 in a 66gto how much over that ? hard to say only at 130 the wipers do not go up the wind shield and stay. i have had this happen with the wiper so it that point i say just past the sound barrier:3dSMILE:well maybe not but at that point you are moving .i would run the tack past 6500 in hi gear all the time with 3.70 gears and tall tires never did the math but at the track it will run 130 easly if there hook. on open road i know i been past that :D
I guess I'm not the only one who was a little crazy**) or maybe just like the idea of going fast:) :) . How about getting a ticket in Wyoming for going 38 in a 30 MPH zone. Yep, ist ticket since the 70's and it was a little 100 people town with a cop and a radar gun stopping everyonewho did anything over there 30MPH limit:(
135 mph in my 1968 Firebird 350HO on I-79 in PA.
Chevy 37....I was in the crazy guy's (Street's) yellow T pail and he had that damn thing up to 145MPH on Flynn Rd. in Greece, NY. I almost crapped my pants! That's why he nick named me "Scaredy Cat Pat" (LOL)
Pat still get a laugh out of that one. After Streets told me what he didn't have hooked up on his "T", I'm surprises your still around. Nothing like the wind in your face to take away the smell from the sh-- in your pants:LOL:
Not bad 205k/hr is 128 mph............just kiding.Quote:

100 on a motorcycle in the rain, the drops hurt like h....ll, in my 69 chevelle out on I270 constuction zone 150mph. That section wasn't open to the public yet, after shut down we got out of the car was 20 feet from a huge hole not yet paved.
God really does look after fools and idiot..lol

I went about 150 in a 79 camaro,2.73 rear gears and a power glide and a hot 383.The fenders looked like flags waving in the wind, the hood could not decide which side was gunna pop off the car first, word to the wise do not try to roll the window down at that speed for cig:eek: :LOL:Quote:

and by the way ,do not ever want to go that fast again on a highway .....ever.
I have a 86 5.0 vert and about 120 is all I want to do in it:rolleyes:
The car wants to go alot faster ,I do not and will not!!!!!
Montana.....145......64 FI Vette....brown spots on seats when she started to get airborne when hitting a couple of little dips in road.:whacked:
Oh yeah, does a "test ride" on the new Kawasaki 1400 Ninja on the road course at Brainerd at the "new release" showing in spring '06 count????? (yes, they have the same hi speed limiter as the Hyabusa!!!!) Never new a motorcycle could have that much power!!!! Made my old Yammerhammer R1 look like a pup!!!! You don't have to be young to do stupid stuff, sometimes a geezer surrounded by a bunch of other geezers who also now better can get stupid, too!!!! Hey, I did have full coverage helmet, leathers, and boots!!!!!
145 in my 95 ta.6000 rpm in fifth gear, still had sixth but I dont know if it would have pulled any more. There is never a better feeling than slowing down safely after a run like that,we all know what all could go wrong...
Had my 34 ford 3 window up to 135. My 86 Vette (convertable) supposedly had a top speed of 150 but I could only pull 147 outa her...more drag I guess. My current 99 Vette is supposed to have a top end of around 170 but I could only get it up to 146mph....but then I found out I wasnt supposed to try top end in 6th gear....its only an overdrive and I shoulda kept it in 5th.. Whata dummy....guess I better read that owners manual..
140 by the tack and gearing in a 89 T-bird Super Coupe. A little light on the front end over 130. There were probably 50 pictures of the tach and speedo from the back seat on the Super Coupe club site. Can't imagin riding in the back seat at 145 taking pictures. haha
135 in a Sunbeam Tiger. Handled beautifully at that speed. Not too bad for a little 260 two barrel.
I once had this 78 Chevy Malibu with a 305 done to the best you could do with one of those motors. The speedo buried at 140 Kilometres an hour (I'm from Toronto Ontario Canada) which is about 85mph. The car had a 2.41:1 gear ratio which made it a slug in the quarter but a rocket on good straightaway. To make a long story short, I busted the speedo that night, but my buddy put his mathematical mind to work after the fact and based on the tach reading he figured it to be just over 225 kilometres an hour (just over 140mph)! It may not seem like much to some of you, but man were my hands ever shaking (about as much as the car had been!) after the fact.
I'm too old to try and get away with something like that now!
