"THE LAW IS A ASS"
(Mr. Bumble, Character in 'Oliver Twist", by Charles Dickens)
"TIME/CNN IS A ASS"
(Big Tracks, Character in North Texas)
There is some really cool cars on that list, who cares what some jerk at time has to say. But thanks for posting.
LOL "the front grill of the 58 Edsel looks like a womens....******". Funny I never looked at it like that before?? :3dSMILE: I'll never be able to look at an 58 Edsel the same way again and not think of that.
And the Model T?? Who does not love the T?
Interesting list thanks!
Kewl, I've had 5 of them on the list!!!!! The clown who made up the list probably drives a Volvo SUV!!!!!
i had a gremlin with a 302,it was a blast
I thought that the list was bogus but interesting.
yea. 1909 model T, first mass production car, made cars affordable, how can that be bad.
Ralph Nader must have helped to compile that list.
Probably made up bythe NY Times, Car & Driver/Road & Track and Motor Trend.
To include an XKE, an Aston Martin or even an '09 Model T is ludicrous. And this must be the first 'worst of' car list that I never owned one of the nominees. Probably too late to find a driveable Pinto or Chevette.
You can find the writer's true feelings in a line that he used describing the 1909 T ...
It's simple, he (or she) hates cars in general and looks at all cars as a blight upon humanity.Quote:
conferred to Americans the notion of automobility as something akin to natural law, a right endowed by our Creator. A century later, the consequences of putting every living soul on gas-powered wheels are piling up, from the air over our cities to the sand under our soldiers' boots.
edsel, the car with the c**t in the front
The people who sit around and think up this stuff have way to much time on their hands. I suspect they probably aren't old enought to remember any that were made before 1980. Granted they were probably correct on about a dozen of the 50 cars, but they were way off on the other 38.
Opinions are only valid to the person giving the opinion.
Opinions are like a$$ho.......Oops! I mean, Kiss albums! Everyones got one!;)
John
In looking through this list of miserable garbage I find that I have owned some of these cars, but I was too stupid to realize that they were no good.
I learn that the 1980 Chrysler Imperial had an engine "cursed by God".
A THREE EIGHTEEN!!!!!!
Had I known that I wouldn't have been running one of those lousy blobs of excrement in my Dodge for the last six or seven years.*
I'm so ashamed.

P.S. I'm wondering just what qualifies that jackass (or those jackasses) to make such judgements. For some time "Time" magazine has fit a description that was often applied to the old "Saturday Evening Post":
"Useless! No longer worth reading and too slick to....... uh ........ use in the outhouse"
I like them all - well except the Yugo.
So - if someone owned one of each, how much would that collection be worth????
Funny that the authors 'favorite' is the Chevette :whacked:
A 19ft Chrysler 2-door with a 440
I'm with you Dave..I've had 5 also.......my Gremlin X was one of the most dependable and fun cars I've ever had...these idiots MUST drive a SUV.....say, the Aztek??**)
How about we come up with a list,"50 worst car critic know-it-all a**holes"? This Time writer would rate in the top, oh, say, 40? He's not knowledgeable enough to get any higher than that.
I had two Gremlin X cars! One even had the most desirable "Levi" package with 3 speed on the floor!!!:LOL:Quote:

Most, I never heard of.

An interesting bunch of cars, written about by a seemingly bitter man. I did own a Corvair, and yes, it was a pretty sad excuse for a car.
My step-father bought a Corvair when they first came out in '60 and a bud of mine had a '62 when I was stationed at Pendleton in '65. Both cars were fun to drive and handled fairly well even though I wrecked the '62, but too no fault of the car. They could be a handful though if you didn't know how to drive.
lol that '58 edsel comment nearly made me fall out of my chair! LMAO! How can you dis the Model T? the ive seen gremlens (obviuously modified) rippin down the 1/4 looking AWESOME! i bet a 302 would be killer in that bad boy. a 400hp 302 should do it lol. and yes anyone whom knows BMW's knows the iDrive is crud and the newbody style, which was ditched i think, is rubbish but other than that its a great car! i didn't agree with alot of what the arthor of that article wrote. my favourite... the BRIGGS AND STRATTON flyer!!!! LOL looks like somethink i would build out of my scrap metal!! great stuff!!!
