Thinkin' about you, Duane.
Check in as soon as you can.

You won't be in the hospital alone Duane. You've made a lot of very good friends on here who will be right beside you.........if only in spirit. We will be concerned and anxious to get any updates, so if you can arrange for a family member to post occasionally, it would be very much appreciated.
Best of luck bud, you are going to be fine.
Don
I'll say a prayer for ya' Duane
That's a good one, Duane. It sure does make one reassess things a bit, doesen't it? A cute little gal was helping me with my bath last time I was laid up for a spell, and said I reminded her of Santa Clause - big belly, white beard, etc. :o :o :LOL:Quote:
I really thought I'd made a big hit with her, until she finally told me I was her favorite patient because I reminded her of her GRANDPA!!! Talk about a big kick in the ego.
You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
Good luck Duane, my prayers for a fast recovery.
Brad
get well soon and dont give the nurses to much grief !
I was in for a knee replacement and got a nurse that looked like Superwoman in her prime! No kidding, a Linda Carter look-alike. She was real too. I had a 20-30 LB knee therapy machine that came into bed with me twice a day. All the other nurses called for backup to lift it, she lifted it alone.
The back rubs were wonderful too! All the best.
Good luck Duane, my prayers for a fast recovery.
Richard
Duane Good luck with the operation and hope your back on asap!!!!
  Well, guys, went under the knife at 8.30 Friday the 31st. (had a 6:30 check in time.) Had the kidney out and was in recover at 10:30 and out of recovery at 1:00 PM. I don't remember any thing from 7:30 AM until 1:00 PM. Any way everything went smoothly and I got to come home this afternoon (sep 3rd).
Still a little dizzy and have some minor after effects, but I am home.
Didn't get a heck of lot of sleeping done in the hospital as they were always waking me up for this or that. seems like every two hours they want something. My arms look like pin cushions form all the stints applied and all the blood taken.  Doc says it went really smooth.
Can't believe I am home three days after the surgery. Chest has a line of scar and staples from the center midway up to the right side all the way down by the lower belly. I didn't even know I was in to body art (punctures and studs (staples))
Thanks for all the kind words and I'll be back with you tomorrow I think.
get well soon!!!! and don't do anything dumb.. the reason i say that is the wife is in the med field and see's alot of people back in for trying to do to much to soon... good luck
Glad to hear that everything went so well. It's good to have you back. Guess all those prayers worked.
Happy to hear it went well Duane! 500caddy's right, take as long as you need. When I had my heart surgery done they used superglue instead of stitches for the outer incision, kinda wierd but worked awesome
Glad everything turned out OK, now just take it easy and rest up.
