'32 Roadster Stolen In Redondo Beach Calif

I saw this on the HAMB, and thought I would repost it because I know lots of our members live in California. It was stolen from his garage at about 2PM yesterday, I gather. Here is what he knows, in his words:


I Was Able To Speak To A Witness(the One That Called 911 Right Away Because She Knows I Would Not Hand Over The Keys Before I Completly Pass Out)

The Driver Was A Hispanic In His Late 20is Early 30is Fully Shaven Head And A Mustache He Was Follow Right Away By A Mid 90is Red 4 Door Toyota Celica (the Red Coulor Was Flat Because Of Its Age)


Really feel for the guy, sounds like he had his whole life savings in it and really loved it. It has some very distinctive features, so please look at the pictures below; I figure the more people that know about it, the better shot he has of getting it back.

I don't know about you all, but I'm the kind of guy that loves the James Bond security system, you know the one where they break the glass on his lotus and the whole car explodes? better nobody than somebody else have something of mine. dirty thieving bastards. I hope he does get it back all safe and sound in one piece.

If that car isn't found by now, it's stripped and sold for a 10th of it's value - probably for drug money.

Oh my God! I can't believe it! I was parked right next to this car at the Huntington Beach show several weeks ago. As I understand it, this was the first hotrod for this guy and he had just purchased it not long ago. Very nice car, what a shame. They had a way of dealin' with horse thieves in the old west, same should apply to horsepower today.

The one good thing is that this is posted on lots of forums. Somebody will have to see something. I know California is a big place, but the hot rod community is pretty tight and look out for one another. The car also has some pretty distinctive features that will be hard to mask.

I hope he had "agreed value" insurance, cause it's likely never to be seen again in one piece. Love the look of the engine, probably the first thing taken out.

Any particulars on how this car was stolen? Did it have any anti-theft devices? I have been thinking about a Lojack system, does anybody have any experience with one of these?

Has anybody heard anything about this car? Whats the latest?

Here is the last post done on 8/18...........looks like the car is gone and the owner got the insurance money.


"The latest skinny: Marco (Thunderrod) got his insurance money and is building an identical/improved, 32 roadster with the money.
The stolen car does not belong to him anymore, the insurance company owns it if it will ever be recovered.
Thats it, sad but true."


Feel really sorry for the poor owner, yeah, he got the money, but I know he loved that car.
