or this if i decide to 'chop' the top a bit...
The chop helps, now if you would lay the A pillars back a bit and stretch the doors a few inches you would really be on to something.
okay... going to go with the 31 year old woodgrain panel theme and do this...http://www.geocities.com/menacefye/412trim.jpg
Naaaawwww.. loose the wood and do something radical......How about a pair of Shelby looking but elongated scoops over the cold air intake on the side???? and maybe hide the gas tank door somewhere else.????? Kewl car, really I think you should just give it to me
VW found that the scoops restrict the cooling air needed for the engine... so scoops are a nogo.
hmmm. ok, how about some naca ducts instead of the louvers??? man I don't know why you had to post that pic on here !!!! Now I want one of them too!!!! I have two cars and 1 1/2 engines and a transmission for sale on ebay, should have room for it!!!!!
well dave, i am glad the car is growing on ya! i have the last of the needed driveablility work to be done this coming weekend. after that, i can really focus on the mods for the car. i think i have a plan of attack for the front suspension now and i am working on getting the paint to shine again...
anyone know if regulare wax will help bring out the shine int he woodgrain decal?
Once the decal goes it's dead, the bummer is the paint underneath will have a deeper color than the rest of the car.
The look you have with the paneling & all has been done tho. Just in lime green. In the years I have been lookin for a 411/412 square I have never seen one chopped, & the pic just looks mean.
I'd definately give some thought to surface mount signal lamps tho, they ruin the lines. Also there are probably some 1 piece headlight housings with similar angles that could be modified to fit in place of the dual 7" rounds.
this car is finally on the road! the only delay was actually a titling issue  anyhow, the lowering is happening and i'm looking at a window tint next month!
this is the new toy... going to be the new drag car!http://www.geocities.com/menacefye/sideview34.jpg this is a 1964 VW Type 34
this car above has stocker wheels in black with stainless trim inserts and bullet centers now. oh, and i'm putting a slider rag, tall double curve shifter and NOS on the car this winter!
cool VWs
That type 34 is a rare beast
