Side pipes rock. I still have the set I bought for the Vega, but the project got scrapped.
Love side pipes on old Vettes!

burn guards just give the scar character .
Yesterday the big brown truck delivered my latest, new front and rear calipers from Wilwood. I am getting sick and tired of changing out leaky rebuilt stock calipers. I've heard of success "O" ringing stock ones but I decided I'd go with something proven. Trying to keep up with Mr. Spears:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL: I'll take some pictured when I get the chance. Ian is going to inherit a good stopping and good running Vette.:D
Had any luck getting the upgrades on yet? I love a vette with side pipes!!!

Today Richard and I started on the rear brakes. Had a problem with the emergency brake cables, they weren't releasing properly. After spraying the cables with Liquid Wrench they worked better, but still was not releasing all the way. Further investigation revealed the spring that holds tension on the adjusting rod was hanging loose. Got the spring reattached and adjusted the rod and they work as they should.
Since I'm replacing the brake lines as well as the Wilwood calipers I decided to replace the rotors as well. Everything is apart so tomorrow we'll put it back together and I'll take pictures. Us old farts got tired, at least I did, and besides tomorrow is another day.
"..... Us old farts got tired...."
I hear ya Ken. Like some I don't sleep well this time of year, I'm usually out in the shop by 3-4 AM. Usually spend some time planning out the day but by the time the rest of the world wakes up and I can go to town and pick up what I need or start calling people I'm pretty much over it .
Fortunately only 2 current projects currently......looking into a whole house Generator and getting some miles on the 57 to see if any bugs pop up before I make the rip back to Illinois this year (maybe).
Looking forward to seeing the pipes on the vette.

The right front caliper is leaking again so Richard, aka techinsoector1, decided it was time to change them all out. We started on the back since it's the most complicated because of the emergency brake which was also dragging. We should have the rears done today today and time permitting we'll star on the fronts.
Next is the headers and the side pipes and after that eliminating the vacuum headlights with an electric conversion I bought from a member on a Corvette forum. The headlight conversion will eliminate the antiquated vacuum system which at best is a pain in the butt. I haven't pulled the trigger yet, but next is a Vintage Air system which will eliminate the rest of the vacuum system. While the dash is out to replace the factory plenum I'll probably update the wiring with a blade fuse block to replace the glass fuse one.
