That is beautiful. Congratulations on finishing it.
Gaps look pretty good as well. Hole in the door is for molding down the center.
That is just fantastic looking Glenn. Terrific payoff for years of patience and perseverance. That color is in the range that I have used many times too, bold but not gaudy, warm without being too hot on the eye. Love it man!
The first generation Chevy IIs were always one of my favorites…..I had 1 62 convertible back in the early 70s. It unfortunately went away when I got my orders for overseas.
Yours came out beautiful and I really like your choice of wheels on it.
.
The wheels and tires were a subject of much thought, a couple mock-ups and my preference for the American mags that I remember from the '60's as being really "cool"....
Thanks all for the complements and kind words.
Glenn
Gorgeous car, good things are always worth waiting for!
Wow! Good for you that you get a chance to get it done, helping others through the years is time well invested though. Those little Novas' are one of my favorite cars and yours is looking beautiful! I'm glad you didn't use flash on your camera, the shine may have hurt my eyes
Well, it's getting really close - just need a few more of those pesky offset clips for the mouldings for the passenger side. Great source is www.panhandleautofastener.com if he doesn't have it, you can't find it anywhere.
Hope to start working the electrical, bumpers, and interior next week!
It's really looking great Glenn! Just a personal thought but the wheels are absolutely perfect for the car, the last few years I've seen so many repops that IMO the whole look was ruined with the wrong wheel tire combinations! The new large diameter wheels and rubber band tires look nice on a new car, but they just don't "fit" on a classic! Thanks for doing what's right and not caving to trends!
Thanks, Dave - that was my thought process and having grown up in that era, it was either American mags or Cragers. I think the wheels many times define the car and I'm pleased with the look of these. Very reasonable as well - just under a hundred bucks each from Speedway and shipped free. Granted, they are mad in China - but they seem to be a quality piece and the guy who mounted the tires said they were very nice to balance.
Congratulations Glenn! It looks magnificent! I also love the wheel choice and the color just fits it awesome. All the waiting and helping others is about to pay off!!! I wanted to put old school wheels on my Camaro but all be dipped if some knuckle head didn't put big brakes on the front and 15s just won't fit. Oh well, it stops saweet!
Roger, I'm with you I expect that Nova is gonna have a lot SMILEAGE!
Glenn, I love those little Novas, and yours looks as sharp as any car I’ve ever seen! If that’s not show quality I don’t know what is. Thumbs up to the paint/body guy. The wheel and tire combo and size looks perfect to me also. I like side walls on older cars too. To me the 15 inch wheels really look right on a relatively small car like a Nova. I’m glad you didn’t wait another thirty years! Congrats and enjoy man.
