Wow, that's nice! Is there a reason he went with the 4.6 over a 5.4 ? Just curious, I don't know a lot about them except I've had a few 5.4's in pickups.

He went with the 4.6 because he came across a low mileage car. Knowing what he knows now he would never have put it in. All the add on pieces needed to make it work are expensive especially with are dollar. Could have built a nice Y block for what it cost for the 4.6. Live and learn.

Starting cutting out rust. Got the hinge pillar replaced only because of damage from previous accident the rear floor pan and inner rocker in. Going to be a lot of metal replaced. Car is a lot worse then first thought.image.jpeg image.jpeg

"Car is a lot worse than first thought" , I've never heard those words before Fighting rust and damge, that's a fun como. Thanks for the pics of the progress, this will be fun to follow. How much body flexing is there when you cut it apart, even with the braces.

Wow that's a lot of cutting. Where are you getting the replacement parts? Shop built or a donor?

I had considered doing a mod motor for a short time. But it just gets to expensive and no real net gain for what I was after.

Previously order left front floor pan, toe board and floor outer braces also left quarter partials. The rest is going to be made the repo rocker panels are not nice. Would have ordered more floor pans but everything has to come from the US so I'll just make the rest. There is not much available for 55-56 fords.
The thing about a 4.6 they look good and they are a nice motor but very expensive.

    So very true!

Hey, in that bottom picture. It appears that the downspouts are sticking out to far. Be careful around them..8-)

Sorry Seth I missed this reply. Welded in bracing before cutting apart and checked door gaps before welding together. Also take a lot of measurements. Yes they are always worse then you think.

I agree with Ryan, you're doing some great work. It's coming along very nicely.
