Last night when I came home I had a surprise outside the garage door. A pair of leaf springs and u bolts showed up. It would be nice if the rest of the stuff shows up before the weekend. Unfortunately, the tracking info says it won't be here until Monday.
.
I would paint the covers as well, parts at the door are always fun until the bill comes at the end of the month
With my projects I pay before they even ship. That's why it is taking so long.
.
How's everyone doing on their projects? I've been doing pretty good on everyone else's projects lately. It warmed up a little and I did manage to get a load of junk hauled in. It was a 5 ton load. I still have another I'd like to take in so I'm rid of most of the junk laying around. The price is decent so I best do it before it tanks again. Haha
I finally got my lower control arms done. One of them the sway bar must have been loose and the link ate into the control arm. I fixed that as well. Now I have to install the del-a-lum bushings in the uppers and replace the upper ball joints.
I also got my power steering lines done. I'm not thrilled how the pressure line looks but it was cheap and it will work. I'd sure like to be knocking items off my list faster than I have been.
Since I'm a project hound...... This weekend I'm going to the Topeka are to pick up a 1972 GMC Sierra Grande. It has no engine but is other wise complete and is in pretty nice shape. I'm just going to hoard it for now. I'm trading for it so the only out of pocket I'll have in it is fuel costs. These keep going up in value so maybe I'll cut the frame and bed down and make a short box truck and sell it this summer.
My project hasn't yet been delivered, but I don't have the time to fiddle with it anyway.
I might see it I can get it delivered for Christmas, as I have a few days off and the weather is better.
I love those style GMC/Chevys, and your right, they keep climing in value.
I think 64 C10 Chevy might be my fav. as that was the first truck I owned.
I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! We still have 2 more Christmas celebrations to attend and then maybe it will be back to getting stuff of my own done. I guess I'll get this running next year....
I did get the GMC home but have to go back for the rest of it..... Oh, and his dad has a 72 suburban I want in a bad way. It never ends.
YES a 72 burb they are so cool 3 door. Good luck with that. A yard by me had one he was using for storage of radiators and other stuff He won't part with it.
Thanks Charlie! I have had 3 70-72 burbs and sold them all for one reason or another. If I get this one I'll just sell something else and keep it for a family cruiser. There's a yard about 25 minutes from me that has several rusty ones. I tried buying a K20 version from him that is missing the engine and is really rusty. $2500 is what he's asking. I don't need on that bad.

My project didn't find its way to my yard yet. But that's ok, my back enjoyed the down time. Hope everyone had a merry Christmas and here's to a happy new year.

Current and not a piece of trash in a junk yard.

Or do you have a trailer that will tow 2 finds?

I think there is a different market in your part of the world than here. Check this out, not bad for the price.

That first burb would make someone in the rust belt a good ride. The last one is a nice truck too. I'm not really shopping for one though. I kind of happened across this GMC by chance. I have very little in it too which helps.
