'56 Chevy 2 door Wagon
I guess I haven't been posting much on this old girl. The last couple of years have seen a few more changes, the car is running great, all of the electrical gremlins are taken care of and I swapped in a 200R4 trans for the 350 last spring. The car goes down the road very nice!
Now I am waiting for the weather to break so I can get the car into the upholsterer to replace the head liner.:(
While waiting though I got to thinking about things... I don't really care for the steering wheel that is in the car. Just doesn't "fit" if you know what I mean...
Not a good pic. I'll get a better one later.

I just got this one delivered today. It will really fit in with the lit shifter knob...

What do you think?

The shifter knob. I built the console last winter.

Don't know about the others but I love it!
Good Job.

Thanks! I like it to and that is what really matters, right?

I kinda like these smaller versions of the originals painted to match your dash....1955-56 Chevy 15 Inch Steering Wheel - Free Shipping @ Speedway Motors
Of course, you could buy 7 or 8 of the red sparkly ones for the price of one of these!:eek::LOL::LOL:

Yup, I like those also but this is a theme thing. Trying to tie the clear metalflake red shifter knob back into the car. The red metalflake wheel does that great. Besides this wheel was only 70 bucks... :)

Mark, the console looks very nice as does the entire car. The wheel will look nice too. What are your plans for the old wheel? I'm looking for something to put on a GM column for my 40.
-
Thanks Ryan! I have no plans for the old wheel. I'll get some better pics of it this weekend. I plan to get the car fired up and ready so I can get it to the upholsterer in a week or so.

looks good, I think the new wheel is a better fit. I need to go wheel shopping also, I wish there wasn't so many choices.

Missed this when it was posted. The wheel and knob go good with the interior!

That can be a disease though. I started out with the same metalflake wheel you have.......next thing it was the shift knob, then the dash knobs then the turn signal and tilt levers then window crank handles. I think I'm done though, wait I just remembered I still have radio knobs that haven't been changed :LOL:
