 Seth, the seat does look nice. I agree, I like the one you showed him better first. I feel your pain with the not wanting to cause any issues situation. Some things create more drama and issues than it is worth. But, maybe running it by him to make another cover this winter to suite your liking better will be an easy thing to agree on.Ryan

 Also: my .02 based on what I learned about upholstery when I stitched my 74 Vega:
 
 The seat covers can be pulled off, seam ripped, and the center panels modified: then reassembled without needing to remake everything.. 
 Education is expensive. Keep that in mind, and you'll never be terribly upset when a project goes awry.
