Got the axle brackets welded on, and to answer the question about the center section being cast ? Yes, it is 100% for sure cast. I thought how about I quit researching and just weld something to it and hit it with a hammer, then I'll know. I took a nice 1/4 x 2 flat iron and welded a nice bead on each side of it to the housing and with a small tap with a hammer it broke off. I was however able to notch my one bracket out and gusset it in the middle so I could weld it to the tube, it worked out fine. My newest it's always something is after I got the four link on and the ride height dropped the drive shaft got way to close to my frame X brace so I have to change that now.
Great! I'm sure both of my uppers will land right on top of the cast portions of the tubes.
I got my different cross member braces welded in after running out of sawzall blades sat and welding wire last night. I got room for my new mufflers now, that was a problem the way it was before, and now I have more than enough room for the driveshaft. It' mostly all good, I have to clean up a few things, re route my fuel and brake lines, sandblast the rear end and rattle can everything black again. I hope this coil over thing was worth it.
Very nice work there!
Thanks, Finished up some odds and ends on it and hopefully paint it up tomorrow.
Was your 8.8 from an Exploder too?
That looks great! You can really get a ton of free education by reading through some of these threads. :)
Yes it is, It is just a hair wider than the ranger also, so that is good. Hopefully tomorrow it will be mostly done and then the pickup gets hauled to the apoulstry shop for carpet while I finish the box. I should post some more pics but it has been full bore here lately with trying to get this thing done, finding cars for two of my kids and stopping myself from killing one teenager.:mad::CRY:
Done. got the rear switched to coil overs. It got to be more of a pain that I thought just because of the moving of cross braces but it turned out nice. I remembered to put on hanger brackets for my tail pipes so I am learning this pre planing thing  I have rear disks now and I don't really know if that a big deal or not. Tonight we loaded it on the trailer and it's off to get carpet and a rear behind the seat panel put in while I finish up the box and some other misc things.
That turned out nice.
I agree, came out real nice.
That looks great! I wish I could say I got mine done over the weekend too.
