That's Great metal work !!!

Sprayed the cab, it's a long story, I had to re shoot it. Color sanding and buffing it now.
Nice color!! We've got time for long stories, especially if they have pictures, too!!
That's going to be nice, like the color.
.
Well to be as brief as I can the first shoot of color looked good but when I started spraying the clear I discovered all these paint flakes on the hood and back of cab. The 3m plastic sheeting I was using did not hold onto the base coat and it came flying off and stuck in the light mist of clear. There was no getting them out. I let it dry a while and sanded them down and sprayed more color. Now it was getting late and hot and the clear I mixed must have started curing because it wouldn't spray right. To sum it up the masking ruined it and the clear came out bad with some weird mottling, dry spray and orange peel and a couple runs because I added some thinner to try and make it flow. Basically a disaster. So sanded it all down and resprayed.

Been there. done that on a couple of paint jobs over the years.
Usually took me a couple of days to get over being mad before I started the whole sand and re-shoot thing.
I remember one that orange-peeled badly enough it needed re-shot. Just so happened a friend stopped by shortly after I got done with the first paint and was cleaning up the spray guns and putting stuff away.
I still remember his comment. “ Mike, maybe you should have used a new paint roller.”
It was actually what I really needed to hear, after I got done laughing the rest of the day went fairly well.
That comment was still remembered whenever I did a paint job after that and even now I still grin about it.
Keep smiling, it beats the alternative. :D
