    Now I am looking forward to seeing those big feet tucked up under the fenders. I have never seen those style of rims before and at first thought, humm, but now with tyres fitted and on the frame, it is looking cool.
    I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

    Time to see what the body will need. Extra trimming to get it into place.

    After cuting out the rear wheel wells it set down on the frame with little problem. Body is actually pretty lite at this time. Jonathan

    In case you need more room for the fronts-the earlier C4 suspensions were a couple inches narrower and I think it was in the control arms--------

    Thanks Jerry but that what this is is a c4. It was a 4 speed car with 3.08s in the rear. Got it about as narrow as I could, going to still have to widen the fenders front and rear about an inch or inch an half.

    The point I'm trying to make---the 2 or 3 first years of the C4 vette were narrower than the later years---------if you used later year control arms, you should look at maybe using earlier C4 arms for narrower track and won't have to widen the fronts ???????????

    That looks really nice! The wider fenders may give it an unusual look too, which I think would go with the wide low stance you're shooting for.

    Post # 30 bottom pic-----can you move the upper arms to the inside of those brackets and then fab a new lower mount the same distance in narrower??

    Thanks for the suggestions. I went an checked,an with me moving the frame rails out to let the motor fit. I don't have the room to narrow the front anymore.

    Initially I looked at the wheels & tires and thought, "No f*#@%'n Way", but I think they'll look great once you've got the stance set. I look forward to seeing the body sitting on the frame minus the strap above, and the fenders "tweaked" for clearance. I'm thinking it's going to look great.

    As Roger just said, those rims and tyres tucked up under the widened fenders will look amazing. An extra 1" to 11/2" will hardly be noticed I would think. I'm not keen on modern fuel injected engines being used in Hot Rods but yours will be like driving a Corvette with an old body to confuse those boy racers.

    Thank everyone for the suggestions and compliments. I shooting for a low wide look. Without it getting very noticable.
    I widen the back of my 36, 6 inches an can park it next to a stock one an nobody can tell what has been done. I still have to get a floor in it, roll cage, and chop the top before I worry about the fenders. They should be easy compared to everything else. Jonathan

    Are you chopping the roof down Jonathan ? How many inches are you thinking to remove ? I personally think the Chevy doesn't suit chopping as the Ford body does but then it is individual personal preference. We have a hand full of Chevies ( '36 to '39 ) over here that have been sliced and to me, they just appear wrong like they have had some heavy weight dropped on the roof to squash them flat. I will be keen to follow along as you do the rest of the body mods.
