Good luck with it all Bruce!
I don't mean to argue with the owner, but that's a '62 Olds 88. Taillights for 61's were round and the bumper had a completely different shape.
Good, keep us posted.
Jack.

This is my new toy, No it won't be chevy powered but rather an old FE with a 5 speed to back it up. Don't worry about the hood, the original was too far gone to try to fix but I can use this one by shaving all the trim and filling the holes.
I'm late to the game here. Are you keeping the IH project truck? I'd love to watch the build here if you are. The 1961 Merc is cool too!
The 'Binder is on the back burner presently as I don't have anywhere to work on it anymore... We moved to the town of Stettler AB close to my job, I no longer have an hour drive each way :D but no garage
I will probably get back to it after I finish my Merc. I need it soon because my poor Dakota is starting to fall apart ( funny how that happens to new vehicles but not so much for oldies)
I still have the Merc but I sold off the 'Binder, (someone offered more than what it was worth so bye bye...) I did get a 360 for the Mercury, along with a 4 speed. Come spring I'll get around to working on it as I still don't have a garage for it.
Well I did it again, I traded the Merc for a '52 F3 as a friend really fell in love with it and had a near complete F3 that he was not interested in building... This "new" truck is in 25 times the condition the Merc was and had no rot in the doors or cab. the front fenders have a dollar bill sized rust hole in each of them and the box has rot in both sides (not severe) The floor in the cab is excellent and the flathead engine is complete although stuck from sitting. All the trim is present and not damaged, the only parts I'm missing are 3 of the correct rims, the rear window, and the ashtray. The seat needs to be built up and recovered but I'm happy with the truck overall. The 'D' is in the glove box

Nice upgrade Bruce! Are you going to put the 7.3 in it?
No I'm going to keep this one as close to original as possible except the rear end and front brakes are going to be an F1 set up.
a nice 5.0lt. ford with a computer might give some good HP with good milelage if you change your mind! Nice swap!
Had to sell this one as I haven't been working in a while, so it looks like I'll have to live vicariously through everyone else's builds
