I have a Mark VIII Lincoln that I dearly love to drive. But like a lot of cars, the clear paint is flaking and minor things happening. I have kept it thinking of it as a doner for a project, love that motor and suspension. So, your use of the rear end adapted into the 48 frame is of high interest to me. Got anything there?
Scooting, the Tbird/MarkVIII IRS swap has become fairly popular amongst several older Ford pickup owners. Not sure how the OP mounted his but here's a link to the process by someone else. Pretty interesting....

Nice information from both of you. Thanks. Now a bit of daydreaming and that rear with the air bags should be in my 40 along with the 4v engine coupled to a supercharger. That would be the daydream, now about reality . . .
I am also in Colorado Springs and have a hodge podge 48-52 F1 and am thinking of doing this swap. Do you bring it to any of the car shows on saturdays by chance would love to stop by and chat about it?
Check out Team 321 (321)960-5945 dheld@cfl.rr.com Dave Held has all the information about installing the Mark VIII and sells adapters, shown in my pictures of my 48.
Got the pickup back from upholstery. Now its clean up some wiring issues, install the wood bed and tonneau cover, new wheels and tires and its finished.
Wow, your interior looks amazing! Have you decided on a wheel and tire combo yet?
Your interior looks great, tasteful and luxurious to go along with the exterior. Congrats on getting it closer to being done, and hope you enjoy driving it!
Very nice! I especially like the exterior/interior color choices. Those Torque Thrust II's will really set it off!
