The 348 was a truck engine, but when GM learned that Ford was going to boost their Y Block from 332ci to 352ci in the '58 model year they had to do something so they shifted it into their car line and started throwing carburetors at them. Lots of low end torque, but not made for high rpm's in stock form - they would float the valves if pushed too hard, and also pulled the press-in rocker arm studs on occasion.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Thanks guys! It's been a long road. Fun doing finishing work for sure. Getting the dash ready for paint and some interior trim. Have to do some finish work on the aluminum headliner before...
