I just found out today that the tires on this truck have been discontinued. I guess I'll be limited to Super Swampers or buying 16x10 wheel vintiques like I tried doing before I went with the 16.5s because wheel vintiques wouldn't make the 16x10s back then. oh well.
This winter road treatments are killing my driving style. Although, I still have been able to use the truck in between nastiness.
I like what's being hauled here!
I've been using this thing to haul everything. I finally got around to putting my rear fuel tank under the bed. I've been driving this around with a 16gal aluminum tank in the LH front corner of the bed and have grown tired of it. I wanted the fuel fill to be outside the bed but due to the size of fill hose I opted to put the fill neck just inside of the LH rear stake pocket. Either way, it's way nicer than what I had before. We also took it and the Vette to Goodguys in Des Moines. It was pretty dang hot this year. AC is at the top of my list for my rides when I build them from now on.
(I'll have to load the pic from GG's when the site wants to upload it)
Looks good!
"........AC is at the top of my list for my rides when I build them from now on......"
Only took me one summer in AZ to say the same thing. Only one I haven't built with AC since 1986 has been the 37 Dodge PU :3dSMILE:
.
Here is a picture of my new fuel fill location and a couple more of the 19 gallon tank I put under the bed in the rear.
Last weekend we went to Oskaloosa for a car show. We camped at a place on the river and took the kids fishing one day too. I did see a 68 GS400 convertible there. I was surprised to see another one as they're pretty scarce.
Izzy rode down there and back from there with me. She must have had a long day fishing Sunday because she passed out about 10 minutes into the trip back.
Great setting for the show. Love the brick buildings. Did you drive the Vette over or the pickup?
I hauled the Vette to the tow truck shop where my brother works and he drove it from there. I drove the 72 from home. The rear tires on the Vette have dry rot cracks from setting around. I don't want to take a chance on one blowing out. The burn outs I did at Good guys sketched me out enough.
Where's all the people?
