Not very motivated today but I did make this to go over the big hole in the trunk that I had cut for the fuel tank. Im trying to decide weather or not to pull the heads on this motor, take a peek at the cylinders and change the gaskets before I put it in. Gaskets are pricy for these SHO motors; they want $350 for a head gasket set with the upper gaskets. But then again if I get it all together and have a problem because I didn't check..........

If you just want a look at things, you could rent a bore scope (miniature TV cam) and look through the spark plug holes and intake at the carb base. $10 - $15 dollar rental could save you a bunch and ease your mind.

Falcon what body is this didn't notice the roof till just recent , is it a 3 window or club coupe of some type ?

I know you can't do it for the oil that was in the engine when you got it, but another alternative is to start it up, get it all warmed up right, run it through the rpm range a few times and have the oil analyzed - Same Day Oil Analysis, Oil Testing and Filter Analysis of Debris. (I don't know ANYTHING about this lab, it's simply the first one that popped up when I Googled "Engine Oil Analysis") It's widely used for predictive/preventative maintenance in the military and lots of fleet applications. They can pinpoint metal in microscopic sizes, and by the type can tell you the likely source, like cylinder, rings, bearings, cams. Just a thought....

Yeah, i still got it, Bobby. It's sitting there waiting for attention. I'll get a little done on it and get distracted by something else. Dont know why; Im usually pretty good at staying on one thing and finishing it. But it WILL get there! ;)Quote:
