Thread: 1992 GMC Sierra...no classic, but it's my pride and joy...

It's been quite some time since I've been around these parts...thought I'd jump back in and share my latest ride and project. I picked this up a couple years ago and have been working to bring it to my 'vision' the day I brought her home.

She's a 1992 GMC Sierra. She was in pretty good shape when I picked her up in November of 2009, just needed a really good detailing and polishing and over a grand in mechanical repairs to pass the state inspection. She's since then cost me a few pennies to keep her runnin' but I'm still thrilled as pie with her. The body was solid and in my opinion a good deal, but my wife will tell you otherwise...hehe.

I owned a 92 Silverado several years back that I had customized and regret ever selling it, so when I found this truck, it was love at first site and I wanted to build another 90's style sport truck.

Here's a pic on the day I brought her home after I spent all day cleaning her up...




From what the previous owner told me, it's a recently rebuilt jasper 355...dirty and really needed to be cleaned up...

Interior "after". I removed the seat cover he had on there only to find that the seat was almost perfect!





Then after the first spring I was able to 'really' give her a good detailing. She got claybarred and massaged with a plethora of Poorboy's products...








At this point I had been saving all my money for the wheels I wanted so here was the next step, 15" Torq-Thrust D's. I also had added some Cal-Vu sport mirrors and a few other things. 15x7 on 245/60's up front, 15x8.5" out back on 275/60's...BFG's of course.









And the most recent mod came this past spring with the smoothie bumper and I also painted the grill. All done with DuPont Chromabase...




I'm hoping to paint the door handles and order a roll pan this spring. With that she'll be almost complete, although I'm sure I'll come up with more stuff to add to her.

Comments and critiques are certainly welcome. She's no classic hot rod, but I'm proud of her and am enjoyin' every minute cruisin' in it each day to and from work. Thanks!
