"Z" Project.

Thanks Dave & Charlie. I've had this trans for a few years now & I'd just like to see what it will do, so my motives are not all charitable. lol. I called Rossler & it was freshened up before I bought it. Came out of a 6 second T.S. car so it has all the good internal parts. We bought a 3,500 stall nitrous converter for it so that should wake it up some compared to the old T-56. I'm thinking it should run low 12's high 11's. (ran mid 12's before), but we'll see. It's just a street car, nothing fast, just fun to go play.

Jeff has his eye on a 406 I bought recently. A friend of mine was in a bind, so I got a fire sale price on it. It's got Brodix heads, Pro Systems carb, Comp Cams roller cam and list of other goodies, & is just north of 600 H.P. Whoever comes up with cash first gets it, cuz' the "Z" is set up for a BBC & I don't want to redo it at this point.

I don't know Gary---you could put that small block in place your big block much,much easier than what it took to do that console!!!!!!!!!!and I was in CC over the week end--coulda hepped ya!!!

Unfortunately we didn't get a time slip.
Friday the DragList group had a lunch cruise on the river booked so we missed the Time Runs.
Saturday, after the burnout Jeff didn't get it back in low, so when he staged the trans brake didn't hold & he rolled through the breams before the timer started.
Sunday it started to rain just as we got to the track, so that was the end of our weekend.
Good news was everything mechanical worked like it was supposed to.
We'll try for a T&T or 2 before fall.
The combination of a new routine to get used to & the nerves of racing at the world series got Jeff a little flustered.
I should have watched him closer also. We've come up with some procedures for the future that will make things go a little smoother. It was still a fun weekend. At least the car came home in one piece.

Well, a small dose of good news is better then nothing!!!!! Hope he doesn't charge you too much to get that tranny warmed up and working right!!!!!

That tranny put a smile on my face when we took it out for a test run. It's fun to drive.
Buddy of mine with a NF/C didn't fair as well. He made this hemi salad when the air line to the lenco broke & put it back in the low side at about 1000' out.

I made up a banner for Danny Miller, one of our members. He's got terminal cancer, but was able to make it to the track & enjoy a couple days of racing. Well wishers filled his banner with signatures & notes, easily the highlight of the weekend.

Pro, your an awesome father, a great friend and a wonderful human being! And I feel proud to be associated with you through this forum! I sure those banners meant so much to those around you that day!

The banner is a very nice touch, and something that he and his family will treasure. Little things like that make a mundane trip to the track a memory for everyone, when memories count extra. Good job, and great selection on your Crew Chief! Looks like he could be around for a while?

What an awesome thing to do for a friend with that banner! That was really nice of you to loan your son your trans too. If you guys come back to Eddyville again, let me know. I'd like to get my car back together and make some hits before the snow flies too. :)

On your Z, I love it! I had a 72 RS 396 that I traded for stupid corvette parts and I miss it dearly. I swear the 2nd gen Camaros (70-73) are the hardest to find now! You rarely see them in our area for sale. Unless they are 15k or higher.

Neat deal for sure, Pro!!!! and that Hemi is going to need a few new parts!!!

You can almost see it in Ethan's eyes. "I got the coolest Dad ever". As he gets older and well,so do you,he ends up driving and your the crew chief then.

Heck, doubt I could afford the pass that broke it!!!!! I suppose #1 Grandson is counting the days till he takes over the driving duties!!!! A crew chief once told me that the driver is the cheapest part of the car to replace!!!!!!!:LOL::LOL::LOL:

Yeah, if we ever took the time to figure out the actual cost per second under power on a drag car, it'd be downright scary!!!!! Back in the mid 80's we used to race one track on Friday night and Saturday, then load up, tow 250 miles, and race on Sunday.... This meant shutting the shop down around noon on Friday to get everything loaded up and gone, then Monday was spent unloading everything and of course a bit of time rehashing the weekend's activities with the guys so this meant working 12 to 16 hours a day on Tuesday thru Thursday to get all the work done so we could afford to do it again the next weekend!!!! It all seemed perfectly logical at the time!!!:LOL::LOL::LOL: Same thing in the sprint car days, raced Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at three different tracks which involved 1200 miles towing every weekend!!!! It was a blast, but ain't no way I'd ever consider doing it again!!!!!:LOL::LOL::LOL: Well, maybe twice a week if we had a sponsor picking up the bill!!!!:whacked::whacked::whacked:

I'm saddened to report that Danny lost his battle with cancer last night. R.I.P. Danny my friend.

Sorry for your loss, Danny must have been one heck of a good man! Dang cancer doesn't seem to leave anyone alone!!!!

My condolences to you and Danny's family on his passing. RIP and now the pain has stopped.Remember the words in John 5:28,29 that read "All those in the grave will hear His voice and come out to a resurrection of life". My prayers to Danny's family.

Went to Rt. 66 for the final T&T of the year. Looks like we'll have to wait 'til next year for a time slip. :whacked: The web site sighted bad weather for the cancellation. The date on the cancellation was yesterday :( weather here today is partly cloud very light breeze 28% humidity & 52°f. :eek: HOW BAD IS THAT. I think there would have been some good E.T.'s to be had in this BAD WEATHER.
