I love the hand made body. Looks like a fun ride.
few shots my little girl took today..

couple more..
And finished up the day with this one...LOL
No limits, There cannot possibly be too many people deeply involved in this style of car... but I met one locally about a year ago. He is not in business... but has a passion for them.
Now is currently building a new car, but he finished one last year, then sold it to start on the new one. If you like, I can put you in touch. You guys are surely "brothers from another mother". :-)
Here is his last effort. It is a quite different concept from yours... but shares a few genes. :-) BTW, I'm "TucsonJay" on the other forum.
Here's a few shot's from today..
few more..
The four 3'' pipes isn't for exhaust,, They will be holding the 4 59 Caddy tail lights..:)
little something I added today..
few more..
I like the rear end body shapes, looking good.
I like the way you've broken up some of the boxiness most cars of this type have with some angles and insets. Makes it look totally different and cool. Nice workmanship too, you should be proud. :)
Don
Man that is too COOL. Thats alot of FAB work. AWESOME build LUV it. Reminds me of an old show car. Keep up the good work.
This is exceptional, Randy. You definately will make a name for yourself with a build like this.
Thanks guy's... I was shooting for a car like the pizza wagon... I wanted something that would hopefully be remembered for a long time... Well I have some new pictures that I hope will keep the fire burning here...Thanks again Guy's... It means a lot to me..
Oooooh yaaahh!!! Always a classic touch from that era! :-)~
Thanks... Here's something I added today... Hope it will make the interior pop when it's all done..Not finish with it yet... But this may give you the picture I'm shooting for..
couple more..
People will appreciate the extra effort when they look inside!
Nothing like welding overhead!
That looks awsome though!
Thanks...
Not to much welding was done on the overhead.... I built it on my table and welded it all up before putting it in the car... Much easier...:)
In my part of the country, this would be covered in surface rust, AKA "patina" in the morning!
you do fine execution of a very novel idea.
Thanks for sharing your progress
Added a round bar along the bottom of the body to give it a little flare when it's all done..
That bar/tube at the bottom gives it a nice soft looking edge.
I was just wondering what this will weigh when done ???
The look keeps getting better and better, and it looks big until you're in the picture - going to be a nice rice, and a head turner for sure. Still think it'll come in under 2700#? http://www.clubhotrod.com/forums/sho...9&postcount=36
Thanks....Yes it will be under 2700... I posted on another site... That two days ago a guy came by, And said it might be heavy,,, Well me not knowing how strong I'm am.... I grab the top side of one door, Went to pick it up...Well it went up so fast, That I knocked it off the block's... Good thing the rear end caught it...Bent it up a little.. But it was a easy fix... The guy looked at me and said: Don't look very heavy now.. Him in his son, Just gave me a look I can't explain..I won't do that again.. All the steel for this car so far is right under 700 lbs... And I'm only 6' around 238 lbs..:D Now I also had a lot of drop off on all the steel... So we will see.. I talked to the guy I buy my steel from yesterday, And he said no more then 2600 lbs finished.... Well we have a scale here, So when it's all done we will know..:D
few shot's from today..
few more..
and some more..
Cool; what kind of drivetrain are you setting up for this beast?
Well I have a vortec 350, I was thinking about building a intake to run 8 side draft carburetors.. Really not sure yet... But it will get the treatment..:D
I have a 9'' sitting under it right now, But I may go with a rearend out of a firebird.. I'm not really looking for a lot of power,, It will run don't get me wrong.. But I'm really building it to do some big show's around the US.. So Look's more then speed... Had to many fast cars... I want this one to look Bad...:)
Hi there I love your work, some one posted a photo of your C-Cab on a forum I am on in Australia where I live so had to join your forum to read about your car and it is a work of art. At the moment I am buildind a clone of the C-Cab out of the U.K. called REVENGE built by Nick Buttler in the 70s if some one can google the car or knows it can they put up a photo so you know what I am talking about. When I finish this build I have another chassis ready for another C-Cab I was going to do the body out of wood but now seeing your work I will look at steel. Keep up the great work and I will be watching with interest. Also my email is keithturney@westnet.com.au if any one wants to send an email all the best Keith:):):):)
Speaking for myself, none have been fast enough! Super talent on your part!! WOW
