...... we have progress .......... we have some paint (although none on the body yet) ......... the chassis, rear end, and suspension have been painted satin black .......... the engine and transmission have been painted Aqua Blue ............ reassembly of the chassis is underway

















... we have, however, run into some snags .......... the driveshaft was built one inch too short, so the shop will have rebuild us one with the correct length ......... a couple of very minor fit issues have cropped up, but the fixes are extremely quick and easy .......... all the rubber components on the front suspension were eaten up by something either spilled or accidentally sprayed on them at the first shop, replacements are expected this week ............ we hope to have all chassis and running gear installation done this week and are looking to fire the engine and test all drivetrain components next Monday ........... when all that is completed, full focus will be tuned to the body cleanup, primer, paint, and interior

Well done Coyote,you are on the home straight with your nose out front. Love the finish on the frame and engine colour is cool, but remember,you will have to keep it all clean and spotless now.

This thing is going to be gorgeous, you've got to be VERY proud. One question though, I've always loved the early style Corvette valve covers but, where are you going to add oil to the engine, I don't see an oil filler opening.

Good question .......... it's just one of the sacrifices we are going to have to make in order to use the cast aluminum Corvette valve covers ........ we will have to remove the left valve cover to add oil .......... however, I feel the inconvenience is well worth it ......... nothing says '60's 327 Chevrolet more than the "Vette" valve covers

For the oil fill thing, it looks like you've got the older block with the draft tube hole capped by the early PCV hardware. How about modifying that to give you a port to pour oil rather than having to do the valve cover mambo?

On the oil, what is the port at the front of the intake, just below the water neck in the next to last picture? Is that the same port Bob's referring to? Too long since I had a SBC

This Chevrolet 327 has a crankcase vent on the back of the block just behind the intake manifold

I'm not sure your not going to have trouble if you don't let that engine breath I've been wrong before but you can't have air in and out the same opening ?????????

Man Old Coyote, who ever has taken the reins on your Anglia has done a fantastic job. It looks very nice. I was getting ready to say the runners on your stacks looked a bit long, then I saw why. Nice touch that has to be there on the Thames without really being there.

Just a couple of thoughts on adding oil (although it's probably too late in the build to do them):

Is there is any place in the manifold to drill and tap a hole that would get to the lifter vally without going thru a runner or a water jacket, The hole would need to be no bigger than the end of a funnel. A simple pipe plug screwed into the hole when not in use would probably be unnoticable.

Another option might be to tap into the oil pan slightly below the pan rail and attach piece of rigid chrome tubing (probably 1" ?) or flexable braided line coming up to an inconspicous place with a cap on it.
