As of right now, plans are for a tunnel ram....not sure, lots of changes can be made between now and then. As with the hood, not all first ideas end up being the final plan..... Got to get the frame and bodied sandblasted and in primer before I can start mocking things up.....
The thread that just showed up "The Fiero that GM should have built" reminded me of a small block build "The 350 that Chevrolet should have built"...

Might be an interesting motor for the gasser....
Hmnmmm. Interesting little engine for sure!!!!!! Brings a new meaning to "long rod engine".....
Let's see, I have this virgin 400 block in the garage...............
Got a bit more time snuck in on the '57. I have the hood and one front fender stripped inside and out...Sheet metal is amazingly good for 53 years old! Not even a pin hole over the headlights, a common rust area for the tri-fives.
Also removed the bracing and reinforcements from both parts...Net loss on the entire front sheet metal clip so far is over 100 lbs!!! Trying to get the car to weigh in at 2700 to 2800 lbs. wet.....quite a ways to go yet...
Friend of mine works at a glass shop and is going to be placing a lexan and plexiglass order just after the first of the year.... If the car is to be the pale yellow---should I still do the red lexan side windows or am I being color stupid again????
The colored plexi windows would be a real "flashback"! :-)~
I loved the look of the gassers with those. Almost any color would be fair game with a yellow body. Just a matter of what you would like.
The only color I would avoid is making them yellow like the car, because they would not be as noticable.
Dave you read my mind in that I was going to ask if you knew what the car's weight was and was going to build a engine in consideration of that. You got a idea what the weight is??.
Haven't had a chance to get it in the garage and on the scales yet. Title weight for a 210 sedan is like 3280 lbs.
Done away with the front inner fenders and all the brackets and bracing. Bumpers will be figerglass...interior will be 2 'glass drag seats and a 4 point roll bar... Thinking maybe some aluminum door and deck lid skins, lexan windows all the way around..... Don't think 2700 should be a problem...?
