as some of you may already have read i have recently bought a 48 ford tudor to build. i bought the car from my boss who is also a rodder and has had the car for about 20 years unfinished-very unfinished!

a bit of its history- he had started on the chassis with a 4'' droped tubular beam and has also put the front x member 2'' higher for a total 6'' drop! i told him i was going to put ifs in anyway so he asked whether i wanted a holden (our local gm) or a jag- he had plenty of both! i opted for the jag which he had as a complete rolling car -no motor/box- but it is a 72 xj6? and that the rear wouldnt fit. anyway he rang around for me without me even asking him to, and he found out it will fit under the rear because its tubbed and the right offset whel will fit well-awesome! incase your wondering the later jags have a track width of 61"-earlier typoes are 57 i beleive.

so i have a 48 tudor body that was a sedan but has been converted with a nos rear quarter-right side only-left side has been made to suit, nos bonnet, doors and i think bootlid-he has nos front guards too but promised them to a mate but mine are really good anyway, and jag front are rear suspension-should ride very nice. chassis will need to be vitually fully build which ill do at home on a jig that im making and body will need minimal work to get ready for paint-ill also be making a body rotisserie. i dont have it home yet because i need to clear out the shed to fit the chassis in tyhen extend my garage to have plenty of room to build body and chassis side by side

anyhow todays update- air con and heater unit! the same boss had a commodore -i think you have them as pontiacs- that we were stripping ready to flaten with a bulldozer and bury so i pulled out the heater/air con unit to put in the tudor and brang it home-its officially the first part of the rod to be home!

its not much but still exciting for me! im hoping to have the chassis home or at least the susspension home by christmas.
