Thames - 8/16/2010
Well guys and gals, these are probably the last pictures you'll see of Timmy without some type of paint on him .......... the seats (which are from a Factory Five Cobra replica) have been bolted in place and the Simpson racing camlock seatbelts should be arriving this afternoon ......... I'll deliver them to Advance in the morning and Josh will fit and install them ........... we'll go through one final checklist tomorrow afternoon ........... and the body will come off on Wednesday to facilitate the total chassis teardown .......... once stripped, the chassis will be media blasted one final time and will then be primed and shot with its final paint color, a smooth satin black

The pedal adjustments have been made and the interior is being readied for upholstery ......... the patterns and colors have been decided upon (took the wife down this morning) ......... she picked out the leather and the grain that we'll be using ....... seats will be delivered to the upholstery shop immediately so they can begin their work ........ while the chassis paint is curing Josh will fabricate all the door panels and the curved inner roof panel from sheet aluminum and will deliver them to the upholsterer .......... if you look closely you can see the size of the pleats on the cardboard door panel template ......... the pleat pattern will follow the seat pattern

....... the next time you see pictures, the chassis, engine, and transmission should be painted and final construction should be underway ......... once we have a fully functional chassis and running gear, the chassis will be set aside and the final body work will be started
Oh ......... for those of you who have never seen a real Thames ......... here's a shot showing just how small they are ......... kinda like a clown car in the circus

Have you noticed the new mini deliveries (I think from Chrysler) and
how they resemble the Thames? For the British street layout, these
were probably pretty useful vehicles....useful for more than a 1/4 mile
as we sometimes view them. It's always exciting to meet an Anglia,
Thames or a Prefect on the road....they are so small in real life!
Looking good!
