    Whip,
Here you go, nurse Naaaaancy. Just so you don't think you are being ignored. Sorry, it's the "beast" I could do on such short notice.

A few weeks ago i was playing one of my guitars (i'm also a guitar freak) and suddenly thought my Telecaster knobs would make great switch knobs if only a tiny bit bigger, you can buy them off the shelf but they are a bit small in diameter, while i was thinking about them i noticed some pearl insert things in Sue's crafting box , anyways i turned up some knobs in steel (didn't have any stainless the right size to hand) and recessed them to take the pearl thingys, I knurled the outside and dropped them in the chrome shop.
Got them back today so glued the pearl thingys in place, I'm pretty pleased how they came out

I mentioned earlier that my regulator cover had some blemish's i couldn't get out, next best thing was to cover them up
My good mate the Bigbossman is in printing and sent me these he knocked up, I mounted them on a piece of 1/16" polished stainless and will rivet it to the regulator cover, nothing like a bit of advertising is there

Its aweful lonesome in the saddle since my horse died.

I could pat you on the back and tell you again what a true craftsman you are, but instead I'll point out that now we all know that your nice little tag is covering up some not so perfect chrome..................... And Steve, would you happen to know a good scrap man this side of the pond? I've got a load of hot rod junk that needs to be hauled off...........

And yes those are sweet knobs..........

Very nice Steve, but you are going to be catching it from Sue for raiding her craft supplies. I thought I was high tech when I drilled and tapped some dice for knobs on my car..........then you have to come along and make me realize what a hack I reallly am.

Well with the willys tucked up for the winter i managed to get back onto this project, been doing bits on it over the last couple of months but nothing worth posting, a lot of the time has been taken up in machining and porting & polishing the heads, they are away being bead blasted and then i can paint them.

The short motor is now together but i didn't take any pics as it boring stuff like gapping the rings etc etc.

Brief rundown of the spec is smoothed and polished crank, MTS H beam rods that were polished & shot peened and magnafluxed and fitted with ARP bolts, Pistons are KB hypereutetic and give 9.5-1 CR, Rings are Total Seal moly plasma. All were fully balanced.

I picked up a new water pump and removed all the various lumps & bumps and generally smoothed it all off, Then it got 2 coats of black Epoxy primer and 3 coats of 2K Moneyshot colour.

The steel shaft stub of the water pump boss stuck out slightly so a small rounded cover was added to the cover plate, only a small thing but it looks a lot tidier now.

Oh and i made an interior mirror stalk to match the door mirrors, just needs a quick polish.
