Found complete exhaust from headers to tail pipes (2.5 inch), and who knew that complete Belair exhaust would not fit in a 99 suburban? Also picked up a drive line in pretty good shape.

With the motor good enough for now I turned to the inside and getting the shifter in. Finding that the floors are a little worse than I thought. But nothing that a few replacment pannels won't fix;

So thats where I am todate, This is not a high end build just trying to build a decent daily driver for now. Paint and body will come next. But for now I am trying my darndest to find a clutch linkage and pedal assembly, wich is proving to be harder than I had thought.

I'm loving this post, Jmaster! The four door wagon is the ultimate kid mobile. We went through two of them (and a full size van) with my four growing up. Great pictures of your little guy helping dad with the engine build. This car will be full of memories for years to come.
Thanks for sharing with us!

My oldest boy is 2 and the more he helps the more time I get to spend building, when the younges can help too the wife will let us build all day long and she can go read or get her nails done or whatever it is that she does when not taking care of us 3 boys.Buy american, it could be your own job you're saving.

Great story, car and build! Keep us updated. I think you should paint Mommy Missle on the finished product, it's just too cute to pass
up!
