Everybody that is currently building a car...
This is intended to be a thread to give everybody a chance to post updates on how your ride is going, for instance hows the Camaro coming along Pro70? Or your '41 Ford truck Chevy37? Or your '50 chevy Matt167? '51 studdy, how you doing? I know there are more. There was a thread for updating but it disappeared I think.
I myself have gotten my MII IFS in and detailed w/R&P steering in place, aquirred a 350 4 bolt main that is in the hot tank as we speak. I am currently finishing off the install of my new Caddy tilt/telescoping steering column. Next is putting the rear end under the car and ....Heaven forbid....Picking out some wheels!!! I can't wait!
So talk to me guys (and Gals) how you are doing, I want to know.

I was about to buy front end parts for the "Z" but I had a little equipment failure this week so the project is on hold. So now I'm shooting for July to buy parts. The "Z" is lowest on the financial food chain, so it's the first to get mothballed. A little overtime is in oder for the cause.

Cutlass s running fairly well. Im looking into paint, and ive got the glass for the fenders where all the 80s GM 4drs rust out. Kawasiki needs a 180$ igniton module, and im working on making the Eagle street-safe. Thats about it.

Well my 53 plyms just my driver, havent modified it it any way in a while. Im building an entirely new frame for my 24 dodge roadster, except im using the tips off the model A frames rails, the extended A frame kept cracking at every welded seam. I guess the 318 is just to torqy for the old rails to handle. Im burnt out on my 52 ford pickup for a while, I installed the galaxie front clip and 352 but havent touched it in a few weeks. And finally my old '82 Kawasaki will cost more to repair than its worth, so im trading it and my '70 Honda chopper , dont laugh I bought it already chopped, for an older Suzuki dirt bike thats in primo condition.

Hey suede, is the Kawasiki a 750 or 650? If it is, and a 4 cylinder, i need a module off it.

That is an awesome rear frame set-up ProZ, that should hook up the Z nicely. Mine won't be anywhere close to that elaborate. Just a 9" ford leaf spring/modern shock set-up, I am also self employed so I know what it means to make every penny count and my '48 too is the last to get any.
Drg84 and Suede getting something together that gets better milage huh? Hey Drg84, are you going to glass over the bad spots? Are you going to do that from the inside and putty the out side? I have a couple little spots on my '66 Fury III and I really don't want to buy two whole quarters for just that little bit.
Suede it must be nice having that many old cars, I envey you. Strange that that frame kept cracking at the seems isn't it?
Dave, what year is your ranchero? My Dad had a '64 when I was growing up, it was a 6 cylinder, something like a 170 I think. Great little truck though. Got some Pics?

The ol truck is still running, Got rid of the off idle backfire with Dave Severson's help on the distributor and replacing the PCV valve. Started on the body work, but it goes slow.
I currently have the fuel cell in the front of the bed, but plan to move it to under the bed in the rear once I move a cross member. Tough working on it outside with the darned storms we've been getting.
Dave had answered my thread on the backfire and he was right, but the forum crash took the posts out. Thanks again.

Yep its the four banger, but unfortunately its the kz555. Id gotten bored and stripped the gauges, turn signals, headlight, side panels and just about everything non-essential to it running off. I was sure the 15 pounds it lost in weight would bring enormous horsepower, either that or I was just bored that day and told myself it would be cool to do.

We had a unbelievable offer on just the rolling chassis with no motor just the 9" rear end so my buddy sold it as "as is"

Just finished up the sheet metal for the floor board of the Stude, and have adjusted the ride height a bit more (lower, lower!), and are deciding what kind of wheels and seats to get fot it!
We also got a new (not new, just new to us) set of front fenders & grill put on...they were in much better shape than what we started with...
I am spending my long Memorial Day weekend gettin' greasy, I love workin' on the Stude!
Since we are building this truck in memory of my dad, I thought that this would be a perfect way to remember him this weekend!

Ordered a set of 18 " wheels for my '50 Stude Retro-Rod. After waiting 2 months with a no show I reordered the wheels and will have them this coming week.
Need to get my ride height nailed down as the wheels I had on the car just didn't cut the mustard. Will complete the frame from plumbing to paint before moving back to the body. Complete project can be viewed at

Money is still pretty tight with all the repairs I'm having to do to our home-that and Uncle Sam took a really big bite this year.
I'm still acquiring parts, tools and knowledge (pracitcing on spare parts) but it's going painfully slow.
