Falcon,
I've been following this thread and have to agree it will be a very cooool I-Scream truck when done. I'm curious though as I am blowing my car apart to paint and will be doing a lot of spraying in my garage. Do you just shoot everything where it sits in the photos? I see all types of equipment sitting around, engines, tires, etc. But not much in the way of protective covering over any of that stuff. What's your secret?

As unprofessional as it sounds, my secret is dust. There's so much dust on everything right now, nothing sticks to it.

I'm using an HLVP gun so the paint doesnt travel very far, and I just tack everything down before I spray it to make sure it's clean. Now to put it in perspective; this is a really inexpensive white single stage paint job without a clear coat and the body was far from perfect. I figure it's a stepvan and will probably get used as such so I'm not sweating it; just wanted to get it one color and reasonably decent looking. If it was a nice street rod I'd spend a lot more time on the body and take more precautions. This is more like the Earl Sheib special done at home.

Thanks, Dave. Glad it's almost done; this went way further than I originally expected. I'm ready to see the end of it and get back on my Plymouth after a MAJOR garage cleanout.

Know what ya mean on the cleanup!!!! Got to do mine this weekend! Gets to be a mess in a big hurry when you're doing body work, huh???

Amen, brother! Mine looks terrible; it's probably going to take several weekends. Good luck on yours; lets see some before and after shots! No, Joe, I dont need another project!

Thanks! I hope to make some good progress this weekend; the bumpers and hood are ready to go back on and I have a new windshield gasket sitting here. It always seems like wrapping up those last jobs seem to take the longest to get done; my wife and I are just so busy lately. I still need to paint the inside panels and put the interior together but hopefully I can wrap it all up by the end of August.

Got a pretty good amount of work done today. I got both bumpers put back on, put the hood on, built a hood prop, mounted the hood hold downs, made some plate to go on the sides of the radiator to keep air from flowing around the radiator instead of through it, and started cleaning up the windshield for re installation.

Lookin' good, Falcon, the decals really set things off!! Now maybe some 1/8" round tubing and fashion some sort of one-off grille????

That's exactly what I did, Dave, except I used square tubing. Just need to paint it and the headlight bezels before I put them on.

Bad night; I had my trusty glass guy come look at the windshield and he warned me that it was going to be a really tough one to install and that he wasnt responsible if it broke. He had me help him and of course, it broke.

If it was anyone else I'd have been pissed but I've been using him for years and trust him. It's flat glass so hopefully it wont cost too much to get a new one cut. I did get all my inside panels wet sanded so we'll be painting and installing them this weekend.
