Valve Cover/Rocker problem and Dipstick location

Have a small block 302 in my roadster....I did not build car, motor is believed to be out of about an 88 Mustang. It has Shelby valve covers and stamped roller rocker arms.
1st problem is, just changed the valve cover gaskets, went from rubber to corks, and now, I have a rocker arm(only on one side of motor) hitting somewhere and a leak I can't seem to stop. The leak is on the back of the the drivers side. I tightened everything up the first time, took it for a spin, saw oil burning on motor, checked cover hold downs, almost all were loose, tightened up again, have a leak I can't stop in addition to the nice new ticking noise. I had a leak before, but at a different spot. Other reason for taking off was I painted the flaking chrome hold downs with a metal flake paint.
I am looking at going to the steel cored rubber gaskets to solve my problem.

2nd problem is, it has no oil dipstick, where does it go? I have no history with Ford motors, I have only owned GM stuff in my lifetime and all of them came with dipsticks!

P.s. I love my Ford, this little sucker runs terrific. Of course, only 1600# to move w/driver, but oh, the sound is soooo sweet!
