had the 54 ready for exhaust . charged the air and things got weird. engine ran fine but will not carry a load. a/c would drop rpm 400 , electric fan would lug it down a little more.
stock 5.0 out of 84 crown vic. 567 comp ex cam set straight up . low millage car that ran fine .
i pulled it and swapped in another 5.0 roller i had but would like to figure this out.
i had 15 degrees timing in it . vac advance was working .

 ????????

compressor was rebuilt . cold air around 230 head pressure . even the alt would lug it down .
same with putting it in gear. dies .

i'm a ford guy at heart. never drove anything else . but use sbc in all my other builds. never do a carb motor again. will be ls powered. except for my falcon. it will be sbf .

acts like cam timing . suppose to be something about retarding the cam in the early 80's for emissions with the TBI . cant find anything on it.Last edited by shine; 11-10-2018 at 07:01 AM.
