Matching Carburetor to Intake on 289

Can anyone tell me if an Eldebrock 1406 carburetor will fit a C60E-9425A intake manifold on a 289?

Emmet, I've re-typed this three times now!! According to this site - http://mustangtek.com/FordIntake.html the C6OE-9425-A is a 2V manifold. The C6OE-9425-B is the 4V equivalent from '66-67 289's. I'd call Edelbrock and see if they can tell you the fit for the 1406 to the OEM manifold.

If my (feeble) memory is correct, it takes a bit of grinding on the intake as the butterflies are a tad bigger then the holes in the intake. Might want to add a 1" aluminum spacer, then match the ports on the intake to it, too. The short spacer really helps the performance on the 289's and 302's....

Well, I called Edelbrock and the Tech said that the 1406 was too much carb and for me to go with the 1801 which is 500 cfm. It also has an electric choke which I really want so that's sitting in first place at the moment unless I learn something to the contary or can find a decent 2 bbl with an electic choke. ??????????

So are you putting the 4v on your 2v manifold with an adapter?

Actually Roger, I am seriously thinking of dancing with the gal that brung me and replacing the POS Autolite 2100 with a new one that has the heat tube choke. I'm worse than a goose when it comes to laying in bed all night and changing my mind but I am trying to take "EVERYTHING" into consideration along with all the good information so that I end up with something that starts in less than 20 minutes and can be idled up or down. I can buy a brand new Autolite 2100 for $160 and that is awfully attractive to me at this time. When I drive old tin I drive it like it's made outa glass so I don't need anything real beefy.

If I was going to replace the 2v I'd replace it with a Holley, used to run one on my 66 Mustang and never had the choke hooked up.
