OEM roller cam block
Need to put together an engine for a friends dd Mustang. Doesn't need a lot of power, but he does like to play occasionally. I've got a decent 302 roller cam stock block, how much power does one dare to build into one of these without concern for the dreaded crack down the front? Thinking a 347 with some GT 40 heads, mild cam and good headers should make around 350---shouldn't be a problem, should it??? oh yeah, light little '83 Mustang (one of my ex-bracket cars) with 3.73"s, frame ties, 6 point bar, AODE, and hand controls.... Good friend and a great driver, but I don't want to stick a bunch of money in the engine....
I know, I should get a Dart block but I've just got too many $$$$ tied up in other projects right now......

Sounds like your friend and I are after the same thing... I'll be watching for some of the replies..

You'll probably be good with anything short of high boost on a street engine

Thanks Jerry, just wanted to verify with either you or Pat... Heard so many horror stories about the 302 blocks cracking!
