Hi Roger, quick question for you as I know you use a EFI system on your motor.
Does your system accept dual quads? Or perhaps I should've asked if the setup "accepts" any input to calibrate for two "carbs" or ????
I've got an old Shelby dual quad intake that I think would be cool if I could set it up to run an EFI System and pickup the efficiency of the computers as well as the tunability!

No, because I was a neophyte to EFI I went with Edelbrock's package which is all inclusive - everything you need to go from bare heads up. Edelbrock has both their ProFlow XT which has the tunnel ram/throttle body look, or their ProFlo2 which mimics the 4-barrel look and still uses their hand-held programmer. There are a bunch of throttle body systems out there that look like a 4-barrel, some using throttle body injection, and some using multi-port injection with fuel rails and one injector per cylinder. You might look at the Megasquirt systems - they are geared to the DIY approach, and there may be a way of using your dual quad manifold with their ECU - problem is you're going to boost your costs quite a bit. The throttle body is not cheap, plus you're going to have to have programming to accept dual inputs. Maybe only one active throttle body, but a second "shell" for looks? Not sure it's worth the hassle. FAST has a system, as does Holley - there are more every day, it seems.
For what it's worth, my next EFI will either be an OEM ECU modified to allow open programming, or something like a Megasquirt - they even have a you-solder kit that really drops the costs, and the mystery of EFI is not so much of an issue for me after playing with the Edelbrock system so much.
Roger-doesn't the Fast Systems have a dual TBI??.
Not that I've seen, Gary. Here's their link FAST - I've not done an exhaustive search, but everything I've seen is single throttle body. I have read that you can use two OEM throttle bodies from a GM truck, into a Megasquirt to control them. Might be worth a call to Megasquirt...Quote:

Since the throttle body is only an air flow meter I don't see any benefit to multiples unless you're running something that's really big and having two, smaller measurments might improve low flow resolution. Normally it is not going to be necessary, IMO, other than for a "look".
Roger I think the guy with the 383 Astro did it for the flow and distribution.For some reason I kind of remember them being progressive electronically which is kind of cool.
Doesn't matter how many throttle bodies you have--just that you use input from only one tps--throttle position sender---look at the hilborn individual stack system on the 32 ford in my gallery---one tps for the injection system---you can see it on the front of the #2 cylinder throttle body--there are maybe 3 pics that show it, some better than others--maybe Roger will be kind enought to do the photos for me ---again----http://www.clubhotrod.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=13805&title=mvc-645f-1-&cat=500

Thanks Roger--the frontal view of the engine --tps is visable on the body for the #2 injector(rt front side engine)
Corey works out tables of air flow mass at various loaded rpm settings, interpolates from those values--
On this car there may be another tps that we use for transmission programming, but you only need one sensor for throttle--
