302 efi power loss
I've gotten the other issues with this car worked out but there is one that is disturbingly persistant. When starting out driving the engine is weak, you have to massage the gas pedal to get it to catch and start accelerating and if you press the gas more than an inch or so the engine seems to fall through its own arse, bogs down to 1k rpm and grumbles. Or if you really hammer the gas it will go to 3k rpm but not make any noticeable power.
I've replaced so many damn things so far. O2, pcv, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, IAC valve, tp sensor, map sensor, temp sensors, fuel injectors, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel and air filter. The EGR valve works fine, no vacuum leaks.
The obdI test is throwing a code 11, which I know is supposed to be the all clear and theres no CEL on. Any help would of course be appreciated."Caffeine is the glue that holds my macaroni picture together, nicotine is the magnet that holds it all up on the fridge."

last time I pulled the codes I stopped after it read 11 because I thought 11 meant there were no further codes. I did it again earlier and let the light blink until it started repeating itself and it came up with the following codes:

Could be your CAT is bad. I had this happen many years ago. The cats back then had a plug in them. I got the plug out and got the beads to come out and it was drivable to the muffler shop.

This car has brand new exhaust, and whoever did it forgot to put cats on. Not joking. I'm not saying 'look at me I didn't put cats on it so I could save 10 hp hurr hurr hurr' I really mean that whoever put this exhaust on just said screw it and skipped cats. I know that it isn't so bad for a carbed vehicle but I have no idea of the implications that has on EFI. I'm still convinced that if this vehicle was carbureted I would have been done fixing it several hundred dollars ago. I'm also convinced that if it didn't have an AOD transmission and computerized everything I would have just thrown a carburetor on it by now too.Last edited by Soldiers-rod; 10-04-2010 at 09:10 PM.
