    T&L Engines?

Anyone have experience, good or bad, with T&L Engines in Stanfield, NC? Their stroker engines seem to be a good value compared to others, and they offer a 12mo, 12,000 mile warranty.

Walk away from this deal. Very slow in delivering their prodct in over 60% of the time.
Call Lloyd personally and talk to him and see if your money is gonna be spent wisely.
I personally build all my engines, but I have had to play the "go between" for customers that come to me because T&L have not delivered their engine in a reasonable amount of time, like 9-11 months.
What if the "Hokey Pokey" is what it's really all about?

    Pat,
I am looking at a 302 Ford, or a stroker version of the 302. I am not set on any particular HP, but looking for the most bang for the buck for a reliable engine, and a warranty is a nice thing to have, too. It will have a roller cam and aluminum heads, either GT40's or third party such as DART or Edelbrock.

have you looked into DSS?? they have a web site so you can check out their set ups and prices. www.dssracing.com. i dont know what their warranties are but they build a nice engine. id also reccomend AFR for heads. weve used the AFR 165 and the AFR 185 and loved them both. may be worth checking out. one of the mustang mags did a few articles on them. if i remember right. the 165 was a bolt on 98 hp gain.

I called a local builder this evening (he's been building engines for over 50 years) and he has a partially complete 347 stroker build that has been sitting - the guy fell on hard times and cannot continue the build, but has all the parts assembled. Good stuff, including AFR heads! I will know in a few days if I can pick it up where it is and have it completed. Hoping my engine source question has been answered.

hope it all works out roger! i sold my 347 project about a year and a half ago. it was a filled block with eagle forged rods and crank and probe forged pistons. the cam was a 542 lift at 226 duration if i remember right. intake was a trickflow. the only thing i was missing was heads.
i got out of drag racing the fox bodies, and somewhat out of v8 everyday cars when i picked up my turbo coupe parts car. got sick of the gas...but i miss that low end grunt.
