question? What cam should I go with

I m putting a 347 stroker in my car what cam is compatible with the computer of a 88 5.0 mustang gt thanks

here is a good tip, call up crower cams you can get their number from www.crower.com, ask for technical assistance for domestic cams, and then ask the question, tell him if you're using a stock valve train and everything, he should be able to get you the setup you need for a pretty affordable price. i paid $117 for a cam for my 302, runs with stock valve train gives about a 23% HP gain and a 17% torque gain in RPM bands 2200-5500, which matches my torque converter... also make sure to tell him what tranny you are using, if you're going with an automatic, make sure that you get something that fits into your shift speed, that way you get clean acceleration.... matching up with the computer on the other hand ussually isn't that big of a deal, the computer will ussually correct itself to the new valve lift, as long as your injectors are in decent condition, you shouldn't have much of a problem

Comp cams is even more popular than Crower on many of the websites. Look em up and give them a call too. I have talked to their tech support once before on some valve spring issues and they definately are top notch. Get some valve springs that match up to your cam. Check out the new behive springs (not sure if Comp makes them, but think they might). The are smaller and lighter yet work better and rev higher.

Saw your other post about the heads. You need to get your sh!+ together soldier and factor in all the other things like transmission, rear end gears, tire size, torque converter if it's automatic, and remember that the cam and heads have to match up with all the rest of the car and the way you are planning on using it. Take all that to the cam manufacturers and they should have a recommendation as to the head and cam combo that will work best. Your stock headers will be a choke point as will the stock intake parts. You should investigate whether you will need a bigger mass air meter, injectors, fuel pressure regulator and fuel pump. Or just say the hell with it and throw a 750 holley on it and sell the fuel injection stuff to finance the heads, cam and headers.
