use an allen driver
What size is it Jerry i will weld it to a rod .
I think its 1/4 might be 5/16
If the driver rod is already in the engine it has a star washer on it to hold it there and you will need a 1/4 or 5/16 quarter drive socket to turn it you can chuch a 1/4 extension in a 1/2 drill---on Fords turns counter clockwise----
just went and checked---1/4 inch
LOL just got what you mean
Yep thank you got one welded all up , had to grind down the socket a bit sure is a small hole .
Previous post had the 90 second rule attached when i blasted to garage .
I have always used a deep craftsman socket on other Fords and it fits in the hole with no grinding. I tape it to the extension.
Willow i have a boy in my box all the time i think he snacks on small sockets LOL. Most the 1/4 sockets if i do have are so old and split i need to take them in .
289's and 302's are 1/4", 351W's are 5/16". Mine are store bought primer rods, had em for awhile, think when I got them they were about $10.00 each....which I suppose means now they're about $200.00!!!!!!
The socket thing works great, too. Always used that method till I found the primer rods I have now for cheap....
Funny I never bought those off the snap-on truck back when I was a tool whore, can't remember seeing them. All of mine have always been fabricated.Quote:

I made one for my 302 out of an old screwdriver with a removable tip and a broken handle. I broke off the rest of the handle and the shaft fit in my drill just fine. The 1/4 hex was already built into the other end. Works great.
I took an old distributor and ground the teeth off of the cam end so it doesn't engage it anymore. Only required driving out the roll pin at the bottom and 10 minutes on a bench grinder. I also rounded off the top where the rotor normally goes so my 1/2 inch drill goes over it.
