Comp 268H cam sound
I picked up a 268 H comp cam . At there site they describe it a mild rough idle . At a stang site someone mentions it as very mild . I.m looking for a sweet cammy sound but a drivable car . This is the link to specs . I want something noticable but not race . You guys with this experience hopefully will know a sound quality for this cam..

I ran the 268H in a 9:1 355 for a few years, and yes it is a pretty tame sounding cam. Unless the idle was below 700 rpm or so it was hardly noticable.
You may want to take a look at the 270H, you can still use a stock converter with an auto and will have a bit more lope...

something that i've found that really helps too is use flowmaster 2 chamber mufflers.... they'll really enhance the sound on your small block.... i've run a few other mufflers and the flowmaster definately had the sweetest sound.... the 270H is a good suggestion.... it'll put out a little more power than the 268H, its still mild but if you go much higher then you have to start making more modifications to the car

We used a 268H cam in a high mile 1965 SJ 327 with fuelly heads dual plane intake 750 VS Holley .That engine went into a street Vega with a TH400 355 gear . Car ran 13.26 on street tires . The 268H was 218 dur at 050 and 454 lift 110 lobe sep . That engine sounded good .

I have a 268 extreme in 350 chevy in a Model A grinded on 107 centerline. It has great bottom in and mid range and hit a hard lick. Leon
