yes. the 240/ 300 6 uses the same engine mounts as the SBF..
Thanx alot i was having trouble deciding weather to go with a big block or a small block but i think i will go with the small block I just need to get a bellhousing and a flywheel.
thanx

that's all the same too
I had to change the mounts in a 77 F150 I had years ago when I went from a six to a 351-W,the 240/300 six has the same bellhousing bolt pattern as the small block V8s so you will only have to change the flywheel. The six flywheel will bolt on a smallblock V8 but there is a difference in balance as the small blocks have a external balance and the six is a internal I think.
Yes, I forgot that the 6cyls are internal balance, but it is the same as the 8cyl, just is neutral balanced, it would need to be balanced to be used on a SBF V8
Forgive me if I am asking a dumb question but I am confused the motor towers that held the six cylinder to the frame are the same as a SBF, FE, or Big Block 385 series?
thanx

I think most motor series mount towers are different as I changed them when I went from a 6 to a 8,the only two series that share the same towers are the 351-M/400 and smallblock. The 460s and FEs are on their own as with the 300.
I'm pretty sure the towers will work with the V8, I know they use the same motor mounts, towers might be diffrent, but it could be you just have to drill diffrent holes in them. if there diffrent, most any V8 Twin I beam truck towers should work.
Awesome guys I really appreciate the help. I will be keeping you posted as I progress through this project.
