I’m getting ready to start the new project mustang 68 new EFI 331 with AFR 185 and H1C TT setup intercooler and Mustang II suspension, my goal is 800- 900 HP
I got 2 H1C for a good price.
The questions of the day: what injector size I need, this car will be mostly driven on the street
what will be better Turbine HSG. Sizes 18 cm2 or 21 cm2 and, and what you think about the setup.

Can't help you on the injection stuff, but I did look through your pics, going to be one very fine Mustang..... Congrats on some very fine work!!!! Keep us updated, there are a few of us Blue Oval types around here!!!

glad to see another mustang person around.... i dont know too much about the setup you're going with but if you need a little help with other stuff, me and the other guys are more than willing to give you some knowledge.... i was thinking of going with a fuel injection/turbo setup on mine but i decided to go with an old fashioned carbed 289 with an original type paxton centrifuge blower

I was told about this forum from my friend who post's on here all the time.I was reading your project objectives for your stang. I have a friend who did somthing like your doing.he was running a 347 and split the block down the middle when he launched the car.they showed me the block when I was doing my engine at there shop. they told me that those block's [302's] cant take more than 5or600 hp before they let go. they said he should have used a dart or manowar block. hope this wAS HELPFUL
its kinda dependant on the block the ones with higher nickel content can take more power than the ones with very little...... i've seen 302s stroked and twin turboed put out over 800hp plus have 200+ shots of nitrous and run plenty of runs down the strip without problems..... but going with the aftermarket blocks is a good insurance policy..... but actually a better way to go is ford racings new boss 302 block they're making, cost about $1700 for the block and has 4 bolt mains, has an improved oiling system and such.... sposed to be pretty nice
Here's a couple of calculators for injector size. The dependant variable is what fuel pressure you are going to use and how you are going to administer it to your injectors. Straight regulator or a RR regulator or computer. Play with these and it will put you in the ball park. I start out with injectors on the small to medium side and raise the pressure acording to boost to get the desired #s.

nice nice.... i just ordered the heidts 4 link and mustang 2 IFS deluxe package and subframe connectors for my 66.... cant wait for it to get here.... i was thinking of going with the RRS 3 link but the $3500 price tag was just a little too much for me

i sure hope so...... and i'm sure you're going to love yours..... next on my list is a t56 conversion, sick of running the c-4....

sounds nice to me....i'm not a big AOD fan but thats because my very first car i ever owned was an 87 mustang 4cyl with an AOD and that transmission was trouble, weighed too much for the engine and it was slipping at 50k....... but a lot of guys like the AODs or at least the aftermarket ones

erik i know thats the standard but when theres turbos and stuff it changes the ballpark.... i've seen quite a few turbo 5.0s do over 1000hp to the wheels with the stock block.... you just gotta make sure shes tuned in just right.... as long as the pressure is exchanging out of the block fast enough you're ok..... but i would reccomend 4 bolt mains be added to help get some strength.... and the best of the best be used on all internals....... but yes its best to use an aftermarket block.... and with ford racings new boss 302 block being sold for $1700 its well worth every penny

Half those guys can't find their a$$ with both hands.
If I can pull the front cylinders out of round just by bolting on a water pump on a .030 over bore I am sure not going to try to use a 5.0 block.
Please don't even try and give some BS story about a seeing quite a few 5.0 blocks do over 1,000 hp at the rear wheels.
Even a stock block 454 BBC with a 4 bolt main becomes shaky at 1,000 hp.

did i ever say it was safe that they put out that kind of power..... i have seen them and they are out there..... by no means would i reccomend it but it has been done and run more than 1 successful run down the track... i dont know the aftermath of the few cars i've seen other than their couple of runs down the track but i can say it at least wont always destroy the block in a couple of minutes of run time :LOL:
